⚫ Your first project (before midterm) is to get ready to apply
for a specific job.
⚫ We will create professional communication related to
these jobs, such as a CV/résumé, reference letter, letter of
recommendation, job application, cover letter, mock
interview, appointment letter, joining letter, resignation
letter, and emails.
⚫ We will try to write with clarity, cohesiveness,
completeness, conciseness, and concreteness (the five
C's).

Your CV is a full history
of your academic
credentials, so the
length will vary.

Your resume is a
concise picture of your
skills and qualifications
for a specific position,
so it is shorter (usually
just 1 page).

Creating your résumé
• Indeed.com > '"upload your resume" > choose "build a new resume" > enter email
address > click "next" > Enter your degree information, work experience, skills, etc.
Then download your resume.

field (e.g. education, information services, government, marketing, newspapers, online
media, writing & editing) > Type your contact info, experience, education,
coursework (with skills that you learned), involvement (organizations or volunteer
work), skills, etc.
