WHAT ARE TAG QUESTIONS?
These are short questions added to the end of a sentence to ask

for confirmation.
TAG QUESTIONS
They are used to ask whether the statement is true or not.

They are also used to determine if the other person in the

conversation understood your message and to engage them in
the conversation.

FORMING TAG QUESTIONS
Tag questions for positive sentences are negative. These are
used to verify whether the statement is true or untrue.
You are a student from CKSC, aren't you?
Linda loves BTS and Blackpink, doesn't she?
We have studied about punctuation marks, haven't we?

Tag questions for negative sentences are positive. These are
used to confirm if something is untrue.
Some tickets aren't sold, are they?

REMINDER
A few things to keep in mind:
The kind of verb in the sentence (First set for to be, modals,
and helping verbs; second set is for all other verbs)
The pronoun to replace the noun
Positive verbs take negative contraction; negative verbs
take positive contraction.

EXCEPTION
For sentences beginning with “I am”, we don’t use “amn’t I?” as
tag question. Instead, it becomes “aren’t I?” like in the example
below:
