6. ERROR MESSAGES

6.1.1.Memory Full
 This error will come if total number of tests with all parameters entered is more than
250. Delete the unused tests.

6.1.2. Check Light path

 This message will come if the lamp amplitude of the filter drops down. The lamp
amplitude range with Flowcell is more than 3.000.
 Check the placement of the flowcell in the cuvette holder. Glass portion in front side.
 Check the Flowcell faces for cleanness if they are not clean then clean with soft cotton
cloth.
 Perform Wash Flow cell from Utility Menu or press wash key.
 Check Lamp amplitude by clicking on Main menu -> Technical diagnostics -> Lamp
amplitude.
 Check whether all filters are showing low or any particular filer is showing low.

PPC220 Service Manual

If all the filters are showing low amplitude

 Change the mode to cuvette & check Lamp amplitude w/o cuvette if it is coming in
range specified in cuvette mode it indicates that there is some problem related to
aspiration.

If it is not coming in range in cuvette mode then

 Check Cuvette / Flow cell insertion slot whether there is any blockage in the light path (it
is dust free or not.)

If Problem still persists then

 Remove top cover & check (with instrument in OFF condition). Keep the top cover a side
along with all the cables connected.
 Clean the following in optical path.
 Lens, which is mounted below the lamp (take care that lamp centering should not get
disturbed while cleaning lens. Use soft cotton for cleaning lens).
 Clean the Lamp with soft cotton.

7.0. GENERAL PROBLEMS

7.1.1 Sipping is high/low /not sipping at all?

If sipping is Improper

 Check whether sufficient amount of distilled water (Near 2.0ml) is getting aspirated in
Wash flow cell (Using WASH Key On the Key pad)
 If sufficient amount is aspirated then
 Perform Peristaltic Pump Calibration by following steps

Enter
Utilities Pump Aspirate remaining
Go To Manageme OK Back
Calibration 1000ul Residue
nt Volume

If sufficient amount is not aspirated then open the instrument & Check

 Check whether tubing coming out of the instrument from flow cell is pinched or not.
 Check Flow cell inlet and outlet tubing knobs (black color knobs fixed on the flow cell)
for tightness if they are not tight, tight them properly.
 Check whether tubing coming out side the flow cell is pinched.
 Check flow cell outlet tube connection to peristaltic pump for any leakage if found insert
outlet tube properly by pushing it.
 Otherwise do the Pump Caliberation as mentioned above.

PPC220 Service Manual

If Instrument is not sipping at all

 Open the instrument and check the voltage on the Point marked J3 (To motor) on
Peristaltic pump protection circuit after removing the connector from the motor.
 If 12V is coming on the Motor PCB Output while washing, then the problem is related
with motor assembly. Clean the E-cassette and check whether the problem is still
persist. If it is, then replace the Peristaltic pump assembly.
 If 12V voltage is not coming, check the voltage on the Input point of protection circuit &
also at combined board. If voltage is not coming, replace the combined board and
check.

7.1.2. Disable printer Yes/ No

 Check whether printer cover is closed properly or not.
 Check whether paper is loaded properly or it is empty.

7.1.3. Touch panel does not respond

 Check whether system is initialized
 If system is initialized, then check weather machine is operating by using keys.
 Check the touch panel cable connector on primary board for pinched / not connected.
 Replace Touch Screen / Display LCD.

7.1.4 Readings do not repeat

 Check flow cell/Cuvette insertion.
 Wash the flow cell pressing wash key using distilled water thoroughly
 Check aspiration
 Check flow cell tubing.
 Check the earth connection to mains inlet
 Use technical diagnosis - LAMP AMPLITUDE to check repeatability of filter amplitude it
should be within ± 030.in filter amplitude mode.

7.1.5. Print garbage on printout

 Set printer using Utility Function.
 Check the printer cable and insert it properly and check
 Clean dust on printer head & roller if it is there.
 Replace the cable & check.
 Replace printer assembly & check.

7.1.6. Aspiration is not uniform

 Check Flow cell inlet connections
 Remove the Top Cover
 Check the tubing path, Connect it firmly
 Replace the tubes.
 Replace the peristaltic Pump

PPC220 Service Manual

8.0. DIAGNOSTIC ROUTINES

8.1. Filter Transmission

 Check the amplitude of each filter transmission. These readings should be greater than 3
(with Flowcell) and less than 9.6.
 Reading should repeat within ±0.100 in stability check mode for a given filter.
 Reading should repeat within variation of ±0. 030 in Filter amplitude for that particular
filter.
 This program will run continuously unless interrupted.

8.2. Temperature Checking

A) Cuvette Temperature checking:
1. Put Digital Thermometer inside cuvette Section & adjust the
temperature by rotating Pot “T” on combined board.
Note: To Increase temperature, move “T” Anticlockwise.
To Decrease Temperature, move “T” Clockwise.
