PROJECT TITLE "Adventures in Reading: Inspiring Young Learners to Love Books"

PROJECT Our project is designed to achieve the following key objectives:

OBJECTIVES

 Foster a love for learning and reading in orphaned children.

Develop foundational skills in reading comprehension.

 Improve language fluency and communication skills.

 Build self-confidence and a sense of self-

worth among participants.

 Enhance overall academic performance to open doors to future

opportunities.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

TARGET The project beneficiaries are the children of the Reception Study

BENEFICIARIES Center for Children (RSCC) located at Logoy Diutay, Talon-Talon,

Zamboanga City. These children are under different case categories as

follows:

 Dependent children

 Abandoned children

 Neglected children - Physical neglect, Emotional neglect

 Foundling children

 Physically abused/maltreated
 Sexually abused children

 Voluntarily committed/surrendered child

 Child trafficking

 Orphaned children

 Repatriated

 Online sexual exploitation of child/child pornography

 Stateless child

 Victims of armed conflict

PROJECT The project will run for three (4 monts and 1 week) months, with

DURATION ongoing assessments and opportunities for program expansion.

EXPECTED  Improved Comprehension Skills - children should be able to

 Increased Vocabulary - children should be able to recognize

and understand a broader range of words, which aids in

comprehension.

 Better Critical Thinking - children should develop the ability to

think critically about the text, analyze information, and form

their opinions based on evidence from the reading material.

 Effective Summarization - children should be able to

summarize the main ideas and key details of a text accurately

and concisely.

 Improved Retention - children should retain and remember

what they read for longer periods, which is essential for

academic success.

 Increased Engagement - children should become more engaged

and enthusiastic readers, leading to a lifelong love of reading.

 Stronger Communication Skills - children understand the text

better, and their ability to express their thoughts and ideas


through speaking and writing improves.

 Increased Independence - children should become more

independent readers, able to tackle complex texts and

unfamiliar content with confidence.

BUDGET The project budget encompasses expenses related to educational

materials, volunteer recruitment, transportation, and monitoring.

Funding sources will be sought from both public and private donors,

including potential partnerships with local businesses and educational

institutions.

The "Adventures in Reading: Inspiring Young Learners to Love Books" project is

crucial to helping orphaned children overcome their obstacles by providing education,

emotional support, and a loving environment. We extend an invitation to you to join us in this

effort, to change these children's lives and provide them a brighter future full of education

and mental resiliency. Together we give them hope for the future.

The goal of the program is to improve the reading skills and foster a love for
reading among the children at the Research and Study Center for Children (RSCC).
By the end of four (4) months and one (1) week, children with reading
comprehension training 4 times a month, 1 hour every Saturday weekend, will be
able to acquire an independent level of reading comprehension. The project is
designed to achieve the following key objectives:
 Foster a love for learning and reading in orphaned children.

 Develop foundational skills in reading comprehension.

 Improve language fluency and communication skills.

 Build self-confidence and a sense of self-worth among

participants

 Enhance overall academic performance to open doors to future

opportunities.
