Introduction
Our surrounding is full of materials in composition. These materials contains various
compounds broadly divided into organic and inorganic compounds. Inorganic compounds are
those compounds that lack carbon-hydrogen bonds, which are obtained from minerals.Generally
they can be Acids, Bases and salts and their derivatives. for eg -NaCl,KCl,Zns etc .Organic
compounds is the chemistry of carbon compounds. They are named as hydrocarbon and its
derivatives and prefer carbon hydrogen bonds.eg- CH30H,C2H5OH etc , from :I.https://

Material and Method :
Observative work leads the project work to be proceed .So samples and observative data were
collected on the basis of observation and research conducted grouply or individually.

Result
Analyzing various compounds present in the surrounding we can seprate them either organic or
inorganic compounds by studying their properties. Some are naturally occur in the Earth where
some are synthesized in the lab .They contain different molecular formula, different chemical
composition, different physical properties hence possess different properties.
Solubility study: NaCl is soluble in water but Ghee and other Organic compounds are insoluble
in water.
Combustiblity Study: Inorganic compounds have high melting points unlike organic
compounds. On burning PVC gives sooty flame where salt do not react with Oxygen hence they
possess non-combustion .
S.N. Experiment Compounds Observation Inference
1 Solubility NaCl Soluble in water
Ghee Insoluble in Water
Camphor Insoluble in water
Table sugar Soluble in water
2 Combustion NaCl Decrepitates
Ethanol Highly Combustion
PVC Burning with sooty flame
Conclusion
Inorganic compounds are very Inorganic compounds are important and used as medicine,
pigments etc. But for proper use we should study them otherwise they brings harmful results too.
Organic compounds can be prepared artificially and first laboratory made organic compound is
Urea. Modern views, in industries demand of raw materials has been in increasing order.
Similarly, in human beings overuse of ethanol like compounds leads their behaviour change,
slurred speech, violent behaviour ,hypothermia as well as vomiting and many health hazards.
Similarly, overuse of urea in agricultural products increase environmental pollution, toxicity in
ammonia, destruction in soil etc. So it is significance to study the materials to identify their
chemical properties for their proper application.
Comparative study between organic and Inorganic compounds gives further knowledge
about the materials. Organic compounds are the basic components of our body. All the metabolic
activities involves inorganic changes in our body. Study of compounds gives us knowledge about
the chemical nature of the physical world . knowing anything about chemistry helps to classify
the matters and chemical composition.
Limitation of the study
I) It does not give information about the composition of chemicals present in the compounds.
II) Carbon and hydrogen can be used in the formation of both organic and inorganic molecules.
However, they are organic compounds.
iii) Organic compounds always have a carbon atom, but some inorganic compounds like CaCO3
possess Carbon atoms.
IV) Organic compounds follows covalent bond but certain inorganic compounds such as CO2,CO
etc possess covalent bonds except many inorganic compounds linkage with ionic bonds.
Further Suggestion
Nature is rich in enormous organic compound .So, for collecting samples nature is the
best place. While collecting samples, their physical properties should clearly study for their
proper identification. While observing dangerous chemicals, essential precaution should be
followed, in order to avoid harmful impacts.
