SPEAKING TEST FORM 3

In this test you need to make 2 short videos. You need to record yourself while speaking. You
can ask someone to help to record you while you do the speaking.
The first video must not more than 3 minutes. You must answer Part 1 and Part 2.
In the second video, answer Part 3 in not less than 2 minutes and not more than 3 minutes.

Part 1 [3 minutes video]

[3 marks]
Please introduce yourself. (You can tell anything about yourself name, hobby, pet,
family, best friend etc.)
Part 2
[12 marks]

Please read the dialogue below with the right intonation, pronunciation, rhyme and stress.

Situation: Matthew’s friend enquires about his wife and their new baby.
Sheena: How is your wife doing these days, Matthew?
Matthew: She is doing fine, but ever since she delivered our first child Clara, she has had
her hands full.
Sheena: I know she has really looked forward to having this baby.
Matthew: True. After all these years, we have finally been blessed with a beautiful
daughter.
Sheena: I am sure you help her out with the extra chores, don’t you?
Matthew: Of course, I do. I run errands for her in times of need and also help with the
washing and cleaning.
Sheena: Has she given any thought about going back to work? She was an excellent
secretary.
Matthew: No, not really. She could if she wanted to but I think she prefers to stay home
with the baby. Babysitters don’t do the job as well as the mother herself.
Sheena: Why don’t you take some time off from work, then? You could be a lot of help at
this time. A baby needs to be cared for from head to toe; you know.
Matthew: I know but I am afraid it is out of the question. This is a busy time for my
business and with a new baby, I need to build up my clientele.
Sheena: Well, good luck and give my love to Cheryl and the baby. If there is anything I
can do to help in any way, please do not hesitate to call me.
Part 3 [3 minutes video]
[10 marks]
In this part, you need to choose 3 items (from the bubble map below) to bring on a camping
trip and give reasons for your choice.
