Tips and Tricks of
OnlyFans
Summary
1. Basics of OnlyFans
2. Paid OF
3. Free OF
4. Promo
5. Extra Resources
Basics of OnlyFans
a. Think of OnlyFans like a virtual strip club. Your subscription price is the door cover, your
main feed is the stage, and the DMs are the lap dances. Club mentality works because
you understand the real money is in the effort you put into personal connections and
upsells, not the door or stage.
b. Always do everything with the thought that OF never intended to be an adult site and you
are constantly at risk for losing your income stream. They are constantly trying to entice
bigger celebs and other hobbies, won’t promote SW as if they don’t even do it (the
MasterCard fiasco of 2021 was the first time they ever posted the words “sex work” on
their twitter), and have no understanding of what is legally required or expected of an
adult hosting site (hence the fiascos). They’ve stated they welcome adult content, but that
is hugely different from being an adult site. They are quick to kick people off for the
slightest DM, post, or even social media link that indicates a violation of the TOS. They’re
awful at communicating. And there are vastly different rules from what other adult sites
allow. I know everyone likes to just check the box, but for this, please do read the Terms
of Service explicitly. The big points that differ are: no mentions of meet ups or in person
SW (I tell people I know IRL to not even mention knowing me offline. If someone even
asks about meet ups, I just block them without responding because one lost subscriber is
not worth losing my whole account), no promoting other paid sites or talk of accepting
payment through a third party app, no selling physical items (they are constantly changing
this, but most agree it’s too risky), no smoking of any kind, no p (which translates to
1
squirting is a risk), no public / outdoors, no gambling (which means no contests, paid
giveaways, or even spin the wheel games).
c. Always cash out as soon as you can. Set payout to manual and cash out every time you
hit the minimum, or daily. Sometimes money or accounts go missing, don’t let yours be a
juicy one to eye. On this note: most SWers have better luck with credit unions over banks
when it comes to discrimination and questioning of deposits. Never bank with Chase.
d. Sign up using a SWers referral link. OF will always take 20% out of your earnings, but if
you sign up using a referral link, 15% of your earnings go to OF, and 5% now go to support
that fellow SWer instead of a multi billion dollar company!
e. Go into SW prepared for the reality of the profession, not the modern day glamorized
version on social media: people you know might likely find out, potential loss of family,
current and future jobs, housing, harassment, stalking, use against you in family court, etc.
Unfortunately, due to stigma and criminalization, these are all regular job issues. Never
listen to someone who says you can be the exception and keep it secret. Maybe you can,
but most can’t, and everything on the internet stays on the internet, so just be prepared
for what you’re signing up for for life.
Paid OF
a. Main feed posts- combination of explicit and SFW. 2 minute trailer videos are good to
keep people satisfied with the cover- content should be more than you give on your free
OF, but constant full content is too much. People like to see you have a lot of posts. Post
at least once a day, if not multiple times. You can queue your posts months ahead.
b. Content for paid OF really should be exclusive to just them.
c. You can post trailers on the feed and set a fundraising tip goal on the post as incentive to
post the full clip permanently.
d. Send enticing mass DMs occasionally to start sexting conversations, and then lock each
follow up message so they have to pay to open them. Advertise that you offer sexting and
pin it to your profile.
e. Create an automated welcome message in settings. Include exclusive explicit media and
a short message (things you could say: get creative with your name and picture so you’re
memorable to me, advertise loyalty lists, customs, live schedule, free OF, end with a
question they’ll answer to start a communication- selling- line)
f. Use the 24 hr story feature (or the 24hr timer in post) for most explicit stuff, encourages
resubscribers
g. Use the interactive poll feature on your main feed, and ask sexy questions about yourself
for them to guess the answers. Caption it that you’ll send them a free pic if they send you
2
a screenshot of the correct answer in the DMs, then if they’re wrong say “aww so close,
here’s the pic anyways :)” and charge for the pic as a PPV (pay per view) instead.
h. Like all your own posts from both accounts. People can’t see you did it, but they can see
how many likes you have on your page before subbing.
i. Club mentality again- dancers walk around to hug and talk to everyone who tipped on
stage in hopes the recognition will get them to pay more later. Always message and thank
fans for every tip or if they liked posts in excess. Check your statement stats every month
and add fans that tip you or buy content to an updated monthly loyalty list group. Send
this group exclusive free content in a mass DM 2-4 times a month and thank them for their
support. Advertise that you have these lists and pin it to your profile.
j. Utilize the livestream function often and advertise when you do. If you have time, even set
a schedule so you get more repeats (late night is best). It builds connections and they tip
(way more than on an average cam site, since OF uses dollar amounts instead of tokens).
It can be used like IG live or a cam show. If you save your livestreams to your feed, it will
keep the likes you got during it on your page, which can add a lot to your numbers if you
encourage people to like during the stream.
k. Send Pay Per View full content in mass DMs however often works. Most people try to do
this mostly on free promo page to avoid being spammy to paid subs, but sometimes
(oftentimes) you just make more here. Send the high quality, higher priced stuff here. Do
send things at a discounted rate than you’d sell elsewhere and let this be known. Send
the locked NSFW content first, then send a very short 1-2 sentence vague description that
is not locked, so they can see what they’re buying. If the description is added to the
locked media, they can’t see it. Send free content in mass DMs 1-2x a month so they don’t
hate all PPVs.
l. Follow people who pay you (your top fans lists). It won’t mess up your home page
because they don’t post anything, but it will make them feel connected.
m. Run sales for expired subs no more than once every 1-2 months. Add a personal message
with the sale. Don’t open a lot of spaces or hold it for more than a few days so it looks
exclusive and time sensitive. Same goes for regular sales- but add an enticing message.
The best sales for lots of subs are $3-4.
n. Use the highlight section on the profile to post your social media, advertise customs,
ratings, etc.
o. Keep docs to keep track of media you’ve sent and organize into main feed, PPV, stories.
p. Make an Amazon wishlist and add to OF profile and let fans know. Update Amazon list
settings to not allow third party sellers, so they don’t send fans your address.
q. Have the last active feature on and log on every day. Do the thing where you make an
internet tab appear as an app on your phone so you remember to log in more.

Free OF
a. Think of this second account as another social media promo account, except that you’re
only advertising to people who already have accounts set up and credit cards on file. This
can get spammy, but remind fans this is your Hulu with ads account, and if they don’t want
the ads, they can always sub to your paid page. Most creators that are new to the industry
say this is how they get most of their paying fans. It’s the most work in my opinion, which
is why there has become a serious market for hiring other models as assistants to
manage your free OF because that alone can be a full time job. The intensive daily work
required is why I barely do it, but I highly recommend it if you have that kind of motivation.
b. It’s okay to reuse pics from other social media sites here, but do use a good amount of
exclusive stuff. It can be anything- they love a personal/quirky touch and connection.
c. Use your own paid referral link from your paid OF to set this account up, so you keep 5%
more of your money.
d. Only post SFW content for free (it can be very close to NSFW, but still SFW). Nothing
explicit allowed here without a paywall. You can post locked explicit PPV content on the
main feed.
e. Send enticing mass DMs occasionally to start sexting conversations, and then lock each
follow up message so they have to pay to open them. Advertise that you offer sexting and
pin it to your profile.
f. Send PPV mass messages however often works. Some people do up to 5/day here!
Usually start with small things, like pictures during the day, then a big video at night. Send
follow up interactive messages with questions an hour or so later. If they bite, flirt and
engage with continuous small PPV messages until they stop the conversation.
g. Experiment with the welcome message: some people set a locked PPV welcome
message with high quality content, while others send a free welcome message that tells
fans where to find the explicit stuff on their paid OF.
h. Use the highlights and pinned posts to post your social media and paid OF page.
Constantly post about your paid OF page and link it- your paid page’s cover photo will
show up below. Send messages about your paid OF account, sales, or anytime you go
live. Post censored photos like, look what I just posted on my paid- and link.
i. The most successful free pages are posting real SFW content multiple times per day,
every day, up to 5-10 times. This is helpful to offset promo drops, if you want to do those a
lot. A lot of people set posts to expire quickly here using the hourglass icon.
j. Participate in drops- or hire someone to do so for you. You’ll need to set up a Telegram
account and join groups. See promo for Telegram info and rules. Starting out, I’d
4
recommend at least 5 drops a week minimum, and up to a few a day if alongside a lot of
genuine SFW posts.
k. You can go live here for a preset tip to join.
l. Same thing with loyalty lists, follow backs, etc. Gifts have to be SFW.
Promo
a. Reddit. Find NSFW groups that fit your body type or consumer, read their rules and how to
post, gain karma to post from entry level groups like r/selfie or random topics, then post
*daily in every group*. Use different photos for each group. Reddit hates and blocks self
promo, so just make your captions cute, photos explicit, no links, and then the goal is
they’ll come back to your profile and get your info there. Link your OF and social media
on your profile, and post on your profile like a social media. The best time to post is 8
PM-midnight. You can use apps to schedule posts ahead of time. Check out r/onlyfans101
for advice. I recommend twitter.com/slutappeal if you’re looking to hire a Reddit assistant
to post and promote for you.
b. Twitter has been shadowbanning people, but if you want to share explicit content there,
you still can. Join large RT or engagement groups, follow prominent SWers and engage in
promo threads, offer free sub for RT, fair balance of personality and tweets as well for the
algorithm to not ban you. Use DMs for business, and advertise customs, etc. You can
accept payment through cashapp here.
c. Snapchat. Create a free SC account, don’t link to your phone number no matter how often
it asks- important for find friends option, advertise your SC, and use it to post SFW tease
pics, advertise your work/sites, accept cashapp for content, customs, etc. Use DMs for
business only, only chat on paid sites. Don’t use the link attachment in SC too explicitly,
they’ll ban you. I only post SFW content on my free SC story, because you never know
who is subscribed there and trying to report you. I post NSFW on my premium SC,
because those followers have monetary incentive for me to not get banned.
d. Sites like Instagram, TikTok, and Tinder will ban you for advertising OF. If you do it, don’t
post explicit content (look up fosta sesta effect on censorship and SW), and only use
things like allmylinks. I wouldn’t recommend SFW sites like this, most people have stories
of recreating multiple accounts or being banned for life, so decide how worth it it is. Most
creators who successfully use TikTok for promo follow other creators and just create
regular/bordering on sexy content under a username that reflects their stage name,
maybe have Twitter in bio, but can’t actually promote their content or the fact they do OF.
e. Join Telegram groups for drops, buying promo, advice, SFS, etc. Telegram is a full time
job. The moderators are so intense and take it so seriously, so read the rules when you
5
join and post what is asked of you that minute before they block you. You’ll need a free
OF before joining telegram. Then watch a day or two how groups work before engaging.
Drop groups are where you participate in mod-announced drops where the first 10 or so
people drop their free OF links and captions, then you copy and paste it as one big post
onto your free OF page, schedule it for 24hrs, send proof in the group, and hope for new
fans. Promo groups are where the top 1-5% offer to post your ad on their page or in a
mass DM for a day for payment. There are also review groups for the best promo, which
greatly help you not lose money. It works best finding someone with your body type and
niche, and good reviews. Top percent doesn’t mean anything, but reviews mean a lot.
Have a sale when they promote you. With good promo, you’ll make your money back in
subs and hope to hook them for more with PPVs and to stay on permanently. There are
even groups for assistant ads to run your telegram and free OF, because you’ll learn it’s
too much! When people say OF isn’t real work, I think about how they have no idea that I
have 50k unread telegram messages just from the past week and somehow this app
became an integral part of OF success.
f. ShoutOutExpress can be used for purchasing social media and OF promo from the very
top creators.
Extra Resources
a. Sites that were created by and for SWers and actually converse with, promote, and care
about creators of all genders: JustForFans, Chaturbate, and ManyVids.
b. ProtonMail is encrypted and is the most commonly used host for work email.
c. FOSTA-SESTA, the bill passed in the US in 2018, changed the internet and how SWers
survive. It’s important to know for SWer history, rights, and your own info on what you
can’t post online anymore.
i. What is FOSTA-SESTA to SWers? 5 minute video-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOlkg3lX6Yo
ii. How it impacts what you post online, where, and what you’re risking-
https://hackinghustling.org/online-platforms-sex-worker-discrimination/
d. Payment processors like PayPal and Venmo will seize your balance and delete the
account if it is SW related. They also release your personal info to payers. Cash App and
google pay attached to your work email or google voice number keep your identity safe,
but always tell fans absolutely no notes with payments, because that tips the apps off and
nothing except adult sites can be used for accepting adult money.
e. The best way to accept money as an online SWer is SpankPay.com ! I love them because
they were created by/for the adult industry, so you’ll never have to worry about being shut
6
down, outed, or getting chargebacks. Your money transfers instantly, and clients can pay
instantly on your profile using their debit card or payment apps- no more “I don’t have that
app” excuses. BONUS: you can go in settings and turn your payments into cryptocurrency
that you store and save up in SpankPay. I have doubled my income this way, simply by
having clients pay me in US dollars, and then SpankPay converting it into Bitcoin (you’ll
need to figure out how to cash out crypto to a wallet).
f. Turn location settings for photos off on your phone and laptop. Get a VPN for safety.
g. For inspiration, check out NSFW reddits for the best photo content for OF, and check out
ManyVids for the best selling videos and price points. Decide on one niche that’s really
your thing, and make that your personality/most of your content.
h. Never trust or interact with a random man running a promo page, thread, or offering sugar
money on twitter.
i. The SW community LIVES on Twitter. This is where you’ll find business advice, emotional
support, group chats for your region, and updates on SWer rights and advocacy
movements around the world. A few Twitter accounts I recommend to check out and
follow:
i. For business advice, promo threads, and general work/emotional support:
@amberlypso, @missbnasty, @aliceskary, @pineappleysw, @apagunion
ii. For SW activism and education:
@swopbehindbars, @swopusa, @redcanarysong, @thotscholar, @jizlee,
@desireealliance, @heauxhistory, @ashleylatke, @katedadamo,
@wearedancersusa, @pacesociety, @graceyswer, @drsprankle, @missloreleilee,
@melissagira, @laura_lemoon
iii. My Twitter where I RT SW rights updates and interact with other SWers (send a DM
if you’d like to be mutuals, otherwise I won’t see you!): @thebrookebliss
j. Best books for staying sane: Thriving in Sex Work by Lola Davina, Coming Out Like a Porn
Star by Jiz Lee, 90 Days and Paid by Amberly Rothfield.
k. SW can overtake your life because there is no time off with lots of demands, harassment,
and frankly it can get addicting. Set at least one day off of it altogether each week and
utilize the queue feature on each site.
i. https://pineapplesupport.org/ offers free to set-your-rate virtual therapy and
therapist-led support groups to online SWers.
ii. @SexWorkersAA on twitter, and hire-powered.com, offer Zoom sobriety meetings
by/for current and former SWers of all kinds each week.
iii. 877-776-2004 is the SW Outreach Project Community Support Line.

iv. https://swopusa.org/resources/ for resources on safety, know your rights, policy,
articles, events, regional in person chapters, etc.
