3 Step Routes Z/F

Hitch-6yds (HI) Drive vertical, breakdown at 6yds, return to QB.

SlantOut-8yds (SLO) Run slant, stick, take 3 steps, breakdown and reverse outside at 7-8yds. SlantStutter (SLST) Run a SlantOut, take one step out then break back in to the slant again. SlantGo (SLGO) Break to the slant at 5yds, take three steps flash hands at head at QB, stick and go vertical up the seam.

Slant 3/5yds (SL) Stem to CBs inside hip, break at 5 yds at a 45 degree angle. SlantHitch-8yds (SLHI) Stick and at 5yds and break on the slant. Take three steps and hitch, show numbers to the QB. Spout-6-8yds (SP) 4 steps vertical, stem to the CBs outside hip. On the 4th step (about 6yds), speed cut to the sideline, aim for 8yds. *Do not chop your feet, this is a SPEED CUT! HitchIn-6-8yds (HIN) Run a hitch, quick breakdown at 6yds burst in and go flat across at 8yds. Fade (FD) Attack CBs leverage, stick and release outside and get your head around. Expect the ball at 15-25 yards.

SpoutIn 8yds (SPN) Run the spout. Break out on the 4th step, take three steps to the out and whip back in.

IN-5yds (IN) Push vertical to 5yds, breakdown, go flat in at 5yds.

Away-8yds (AW) Start on the fade, stick, outside release, hitch inside at 8yds and break to the sideline.

SpoutGo (SPGO) Run a spout, take three steps to the sideline go vertical. Avoid collision.

HitchGo (HIGO) Drive vertical to 6yds, chop your feet, flash your head back to the QB and go vertical, avoid collision and work outside.

3 Step RoutesX/Y
Hitch-6yds (HI) Drive vertical, breakdown at 6yds, return to QB. Arrow 1-3yds (AR) Go to the flat right now, aiming for a depth of 3yds. Exit-4yds (EX) Take 2 steps vertical and speed cut out. Outrun the defender to the sideline. ExitStutter -4yds(EXST) Run ExitIn, take one step in then burst back out at 4-5yds. ExitSeam (EXSM) Run Exit, take 3 steps on the out, stick and get up the seam.

Slant 3/5yds (SL) Stem to CBs inside hip, break at 3-4yds at a 45 degree angle. ArrowIn-3yds (ARN) Take 4-5 steps on the arrow, break down and whip back in staying at 3yds depth. ExitIn-4-5yds (EXN) Run Exit route, take 2-3 steps to the out, breakdown and whip back in at 4-5yds. Seam (SM) Take best release (preferably outside), and work up the outside of the hash

Option-5yds (OP) Push vertical to 5yds, read defender over you, break/ hitch away.

Double Option (2OP) Push vertical to 5yds, start one way, whip back the other way.

5 Step Routes Z/F

Out-12yd (OT) Drive vertical, to 12yds, breakdown, square cut, and go out.

OutIn-12yd (OTN) Run a 12yd out, breakdown, take 1 step to the out and whip back in.

OutPost (OTP) Drive vertical to 10yds, stutter your feet, nod to the out, and break to the post.

Hook 14yds (HK) Inside release, drive vertical to 14yds, breakdown and come back to the QB.

Post-10yd (PO) Get to the CBs inside hip, push vertical to 10 and break to the post
Z

Skinny-10yds (SK) Inside release and get vertical. Its post, but you are trying to get vertical over the top. VS Cov 2 it may be more like a inside release go.

PostCorner 8-12yds (PC) Run a post, break at 8yds, take 3 steps to the post, then stick back to the corner at 12yds. Set the corner vertical, let the QB flatten you out to the sideline. PostOut 8-12yds (POO) Break at 8yds to the post, drive to 12 yds, breakdown and whip back out.

Curl 8-14yds (CU) Drive vertical get inside leverage on the CB, break to the post at 8yds, break down and comeback to the QB at 14yds. Keep the post skinny. Xs run a 12yd Curl.

VERT (VT) 1 High run a Go route. 2 High run a Post route.

DIG-8-14yds (DG) Break to the post at 8yds, and then at 14yds, stick and go flat across the middle.

Go (GO)) Drive vertical, attack the CBs leverage, and release outside.

GoAway (GA) Run Go. If you beat the CB run Go route. If CB stays over the top, at 14yds, hitch inside and work to the sideline on Away route. Comeback 14-12yds (CB) Outside release and push vertical to 14yds, break down, turn outside and aim for 12yds on the sideline. If play-action run the CB 16-14yds.

Square-14yds (SQ) Drive vertical to 14yds, get to CBs inside hip, breakdown and square cut in at 14yds. Ys run a 12yd Square.

SquareOut-12yd (SQO). Inside stem and push vertical to 12yds. Breakdown and take one step to Square, whip back out at 12yds.

5-Step X/Y Specific


Corner-10yd (CO) Outside release and push vertical to 10 yards, stick and break to the corner. CornerPost-8-12yds (COP). Outside release, break the corner at 8yds, take three steps and stick back to the post at 12yds.

Under-3yds (UN) Get across right now working to a depth of 3yds.

UnderOut 3yds (UNO) Start on the under, take 5-7 steps, breakdown and whip back out.

Drag-8-12yds (DR) Start flat like an under, get over the center, push vertical to 8yds, speed cut back across the field at 12yds. Wheel (WH) Start on Arrow route, speed cut vertical aiming for the bottom of the numbers.

ArrowPost (ARPO) Take 5 steps on the arrow, push vertical to 8yds and break to the post.

Roll (RO) Push vertical, get outside leverage, stick at 8yds speed cut to 12yds on the sideline.
