Beaded Lace Scarf & fingerless gloves

63% Superwash Merino, 20% Silk , 15% Nylon, 2% Silver Fiber

1 skein will make scarf & fingerless gloves Sample knitted in Red Carpet Silk & Silver

Gauge not especially important Supplies 1 skein Silk & Silver Knitting Needles size US #8 (5mm) US #6 (4mm) Beading needle or dental floss threader Large eye needle (for sewing glove seams) 190 glass beads size #6 with silver lining

Sterling Silk & Silver combine with glass beads for a truly stunning set of fingerless mittens and matching scarf.

Beaded Lace Scarf & fingerless gloves

To thread bead onto yarn, place yarn end through the loop of the floss threader and begin threading beads on straight end of floss threader or use a beading needle. Continue pushing beads onto threader and then onto yarn. Left mitten Thread about 40 beads onto your yarn. Push all beads about four yards up yarn. With size 8 needle cast on 39 stitches. Change to size 6 needle and knit four rows. Begin lace pattern. Knit eight rows of lace pattern eight times, pushing beads further along yarn as needed. After knitting 64 pattern rows, knit four plain rows (garter stitch). Bind off using size 8 needle. Sew side seams from bottom edge to 4 inches above bottom edge. Leave two inches open for thumb. Sew closed from 6 inches above bottom edge to top of fingerless mitten. Right mitten Thread 40 beads onto yarn as for first mitten. With size 8 needle, cast on 39 stitches. Change to size 6 needle and knit as for first mitten but following chart for right mitten. Sew seam to match left mitten. Optional scarf Thread 100 beads onto yarn. With size 8 needle, cast on 41 stitches. Change to size 6 needle and knit four rows. Start pattern following scarf chart. Work rows 1 through 8 fifty times. Knit four rows. Bind off loosely with size 8 needle. Block to desired measurement. KEY Knit on right side, purl on wrong side - Purl on right side, knit on wrong side 0 Yarn over Purl three together with bead B Purl with bead Purl three together < Purl two together
