Ques 01: Differentiate among test, measurement and evaluation.
Answer:
Test, measurement, and evaluation are closely related concepts in the realm of
assessment, but they have distinct meanings and purposes.

Ques 02: Write shortly with relevant examples on following:
a) Placement test
b) Diagnostic test
c) Norm referenced measurement
d) Criterion referenced measurement
Answer:
a) Placement test: A placement test is used to determine a student's current level of
proficiency or knowledge in a particular subject or skill, usually to determine which
course or level they should be placed in.
Example: A language school might administer a placement test to assess a
student's language abilities before placing them in a beginner, intermediate, or
advanced class.
b) Diagnostic test: A diagnostic test is designed to identify a student's strengths and
weaknesses in a specific subject area. It helps educators understand where a student
may need additional support or instruction.
Example: A math teacher might give a diagnostic test at the beginning of the school
year to assess each student's understanding of foundational math concepts such as
addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
c) Norm referenced measurement: Norm-referenced measurement compares
an individual’s performance to the performance of a group of peers, often providing
a percentile rank or a standardized score.
Example: An example would be a standardized test like the SAT or ACT, where a
student’s score is compared to the scores of other test-takers in the same grade
level.
d) Criterion referenced measurement: Criterion-referenced measurement
evaluates a student’s performance against a predetermined set of criteria or learning
standards, without comparing it to the performance of other students.
Example: For example, a driving test measures whether a person meets the criteria
to obtain a driver's license, regardless of how other individuals perform on the same
test.
