Summative Assignment 1
What have you personally done differently since completing Managing Mindset and Personal
Mastery?
The two modules have helped me with my mental well-being which I have to remind myself each day of
not been hard on myself and staying focus on the present moment and let go of the past, but I have
noticed that I need to draw back to moments that usually keep me thinking about my failures s and
things that I didn’t put much effort to grow as a person, those help me deal with my personal and work
struggles so I do not repeat the same things I did before.
I have started reading which is one of the many things I will keep up only if I can put a target on the
books I would like to read per month this encourages me to join a book club, it helps to think out of the
box and gives me the courage to go back to school, I have had so much self-doubt in myself to even
want to be in circles where people see the further ahead but with this I have regained a purpose for
myself go to school study this was one of my dreams in my teens but the choices I made before took a
turn on the Goals I have once set for myself and that dream is revived it’s never too late but I now see
that it is the right time to follow my dreams.
I have started also Journaling- we spoke about this in class how Journaling is good to keep track of the
Goals one set for themselves it is not an everyday thing I do but I do see the need and reason to write
my thoughts, attitude of Gratitude is the best mindset I have begun I keep record of being grateful for
life, for my Job my Family and ability to do things different this year, for example I just went back to
work after a 5 months leave while I was on my maternity leave I saw posts on new post at work which I
felt I was missing out on leaving up on my career but when I drew back and look at life I am grateful for
the little person I get to hold and teach and admire the different phases she goes through her own little
achievements and I know how proud I have to be I also got a 100% on my Quality assurance when i got
back this is because I know I can do this and I just need to polish myself before i can move forward it
takes discipline and hard work to move to the next level which I do in everything now.
Affirmations: I affirm good Health and also have changed my ways of eating Junk every chance i get, its
hard but I have seen how it helps with my physical being not getting tired so quickly which is one of the
things on my list to do exceptionally well in working on my physical health it’s good for the mindset as
well one is able to think in a clear mind state.
the two modules align with each other as the 1st thing pone has to do is fix the way we think which will
help with what we do next this means one can have a vision of how life should be for them in bases of
personal development that would come from the continuously learning, In this technological world I
have given myself time to think about my career and what is it that i would like to learn the most.
I have registered on Amazon learning I have not started cause of not having my personal pc as mine
broke, but I know that by the end of the term I will be able to know more on the AI world and know
more on what it means for me and my further I am striving for excellence and that means one can never
been to relaxed to think that I am currently sorted with what I have or know, in the space of work what
I have done when I got back is to learn more of what others do teach myself of the business and have
knowledge on what I don’t know i.e. products that my department deals with , I must say it is very
interesting how little I know or have shown interest in for the past years but with the shifting of things
and having to remind myself that I know I can or think positive it’s a good start for me
When I came back from my leave I knew I needed to be a diver of my life and take initiate to been seen
to do more and see the purpose and the values that my company holds and what all this means for our
clients and us as a whole and to that I had questions for myself as to how I would make it possible to
seek support when I struggle with my working towards my Goals which will help with Valuable insights
and Guidance and this is helping with Stimulating my mind
I have also learn to be patient, having to meet up in class and hear what is shared had to let me reflect
and do some personal introspection, I am not patient enough and this is something I keep having self-
talk about, knowing the end Goal is very important without a vision than there is no Goal and no
commitment at all, now I know my patience will help me reach no limits its teaching me empathy as well
I also know there is a lot to learn with each day and one thing I need to do is not wait for the last
moment as I did with this project to submit it doesn’t give you time to work on things you want and I
also realized that I never want to work under pressure if I have all the time in the world why not work
through it and get it right the 1st time?
I have started to engage more with people and be Expressiveness this is one of the things I have
struggled with not knowing how to start a conversation with a stranger in a taxi to Limpopo and felt I
have nothing to say , Engagement help with self-awareness what I am thinking at the time and how to
project myself this help boost confidence I have learnt a lot in this short space of time and know there is
a lot to learn and help me grow as an individual in my personal capacity and profession
What is my personal development plan going forward?
Physical Activity: Take a daily walk at the end of a work day or after a long day spent with family or by
myself this should help with reducing my stress if I had any on a particular day
Learning: whatever I have planned for myself as part of my learning should be done and I have to
hold myself accountable setting time frame and what needs to be achieved
Mindful Practices: This is on my daily things to do no matter how good or bad the day is going
Self-Compassion: Be good to myself, always see a better vison of myself, and reward myself and always
understanding myself
, don’t dwell on Negative things it never helps with self-motivation
