Management

The Four Basic Functions of Human Resource Management are


-Planning/Human Resource Planning
-Organizing
-Directing
-Controlling

a. ) Planning
In this particular function, the manager must determine the number and type of
employees needed to accomplish organizational goals. Human resource
planning involves figuring out workforce requirements, assessing the available
talent pool, and developing strategies to ensure that the right people with the
right skills are in the right positions at the right time.

b. ) Organizing
After the human resource manager establishes the objectives and develop
strategies to achieve them, the next step is to create the organization's structure.
This involves:

Organizing personnel activities by grouping them according to their roles or


functions.
Distributing set of tasks to different individuals.
Delegating authority based on assigned tasks and associated responsibilities
Coordinating activities of different employees.

In an organization, people are given specific jobs, connections are made, and
tasks are combined to reach a common goal. Employees build relationships to
work together and achieve the organization's goals

c. ) Directing
Enabling employees at various tiers to engage actively and maximize their
contribution to the organization can be achieved by proper motivation and
guidance. Harnessing employee's fullest potential and capabilities can be
accomplished by motivating them and providing clear directives.
d. ) Controlling
Following the stages of planning, organization, and direction, the next step is
examining the actual performance of the employees and comparing it against the
original plan. This is done to see if things are progressing as intended or if there
are any discrepancies.
If the actual performance is not aligning with the planned performance, then
control measures must be taken in order to correct any dis alignment from the
plan and bring the performance back on track. These measures could include
adjusting strategies, reallocating resources, redefining tasks or making other
necessary changes to ensure the goals are still met.
