B. Write any one of the following:


1. Write a letter to your younger sister advising her to read newspapers regularly,
impressing upon her the need for doing so.
OR

2. Write a letter to the Customer care Manager of a courier company, complaining to


him about the non-delivery of a parcel you sent to your friend in another city a month
ago.

C. Write any one of the following:


1. On the occasion of 75th Independence Day, your school is organizing an Inter-House
Quiz entitled ‘Know Your Country’. Write an email to the Head of the English
Department of your school, requesting him/her to be the quiz master.
OR

2. Your school is organizing an excursion to the Prime Minister Museum in Delhi for
the students of classes IX and X. write an email to the Manager of a hotel in Delhi,
requesting him to provide details of rooms and other facilities available in his hotel
along with the available price packages for the students of your school likely to visit
Delhi in November.

D. Write any one of the following:


1. Your school is organizing a campaign for creating awareness about the hazards of
plastics. Write a notice for your school informing the students of the campaign and
inviting them to participate in it.
OR

2. The hockey team of your school has reached the finals of the National Inter-School
Hockey Tournament. Write a notice to be put up in your school requesting the
students of classes VIII and IX to reach the stadium and cheer your team.

8- Significant lines, phrases and dialogues should be highlighted.
