Reaffirming the principles of the Fez Process and its significance in promoting interfaith
dialogue and harmony,
Acknowledging the detrimental effects of biased and sensationalized media representations in
perpetuating conflicts,
Affirming the importance of the freedom of religion or belief as an inalienable human right as
outlined in Article 18 & Article 27 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights,
Recalling Resolution A/RES/73/328 entitled "Promotion of interreligious and intercultural
dialogue, understanding and cooperation for peace," and the objectives of the United Nations
Alliance of Civilizations,
Recognizing the special role that religious and cultural dialogue can play in peacebuilding and in
preventing intolerance,
Concerned by the continued reports of intolerance, discrimination, and acts of violence against
individuals on the basis of their religion or belief, around the world,
Condemning all forms of violence and discrimination based on religion or belief, as well as any
advocacy of religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility, or violence,
Reaffirming UNGA Resolution 75/282 and The Global Cybersecurity Agenda (GCA) launched at
the World Summit of Information Society 2007
1) Urges member states to emulate Pakistan's initiatives in convening interfaith harmony
conferences inspired by the Fez Process and Faith for right framework, aimed at fostering
mutual understanding, respect, and cooperation among communities;
2) Request upon the international community to promote balanced and unbiased media
representation on religious matters, discouraging sensationalism and perpetuation of religious
conflicts;
3) Urges the members states to develop a unified legally binding framework to combat Online
Hate Speech in accordance with UNGA Resolution 75/282 along with the International
Telecommunications Union under the Global Cybercrimes Agenda;
4) Acknowledging the role of civil society organization (CSO) and responsibilities of the member
states for non discriminatory regulation and registration of religious groups and close monitoring
of their communions and activities to limit and diminish any sort of radical and extremist
movements domestically as well as internationally in accordance with article 4 of International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR);
5) Reaffirming The Human Rights Action Plan which creates relevant legislation and
implementation will be reviewed in the line with international human rights standards with
compensating the freedom of religion and conscience to the widest of extent;
6) Requests the Special Rapporteur to undertake thematic research with a view to
monitoring the implementation of the recommendations made by the independent
international fact-finding mission on Myanmar, and to provide detailed updates on the issues
covered by the mission in its reports and conference room papers.
