Guidelines and laws governing e-commerce in the Philippines:

Data Protection:
- Data Privacy Act of 2012 (R.A. 10173):
A law that protects personal data in the Philippines' government and private sector. It also regulates
how personal data is collected, recorded, organized, stored, and more. The law aims to promote
innovation and growth by ensuring the free flow of information while protecting individual privacy.
- Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012:
Protects computers, networks, and databases from misuse, abuse, and illegal access.

Consumer Protection:
- Consumer Act of the Philippines (R.A. 7394):
This law provides protection to consumers in various transactions, including those conducted online.
This law also gives consumers the right to redress. This means that consumers have the right to be
compensated for misrepresentation, shoddy goods, or unsatisfactory services. If a consumer has
bought a defective product, they can return to the store, look for Consumer Welfare Desk, and request
a replacement, refund, or repair of the product.

Payment Security:
- Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Circular No. 808:
This circular provides guidelines for the security of electronic payment transactions in the Philippines.
- Bangko Sentral Ng Pilipinas(BSP) Circular No. 649:
This circular povides the guidelines governing the issuance of electronic money (e-money) and the
operations of electronic money issuers (EMI) in the Philippines

Compliance:
- Electronic Commerce Act (R.A. 8792):
This law provides the legal framework for electronic transactions in the Philippines, including
compliance requirements for e-commerce businesses.
