UNIT INSTALLATION
1. Cutting the gypsum ceiling
Cutting gypsum ceiling boards requires precision and care to ensure a clean and accurate
cut without damaging surrounding materials.
2. Disconnecting power connections
Disconnecting power connections safely is crucial to prevent electrical hazards and
ensure the safety of personnel and equipment.
Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including insulated gloves and
safety glasses, to protect against electrical hazards.
Identify the power source: Locate the circuit breaker or switch that supplies power to the unit
you're disconnecting. And disconnect the power connection.
3. Isolating the pipeline using valve
Isolating a pipeline using a valve is a common procedure in various industries for
maintenance, repairs, or to control the flow of fluids.
If the valve is manual, use a valve wrench or handle to turn the valve clockwise (or as
indicated by valve markings) to the closed position.
If the valve is automated, follow the procedures specified for closing the valve using the
control system.
After closing the valve, verify that the valve is fully closed and that no fluid can flow
through the pipeline.
Check for any leaks or signs of fluid escaping from the valve or pipeline connections.
4. Removing pipeline connection
Identify the pipeline connection you need to remove and ensure you have proper access to
it.
If the pipeline carries fluid, shut off the flow using a valve upstream of the connection you
intend to remove.
Verify that the valve is fully closed and that there is no pressure in the pipeline by using
pressure gauges or monitoring equipment.
Loosen the bolts or fittings securing the pipeline connection using suitable tools, such as
wrenches or socket sets.
Carefully disconnect the pipeline connection by separating the components without
damaging the pipeline or surrounding equipment.
5. Removing duct mouth connection
Identify the duct mouth connection you need to remove and ensure you have proper access to it.
Loosen or remove any fasteners securing the ductwork to the mouth or opening, such as
screws, bolts, or clamps.
Use appropriate tools, such as screwdrivers, wrenches, or socket sets, to loosen or remove
the fasteners without damaging the ductwork or surrounding components.
6. Removing existing damaged FCU
Removing an existing damaged FCU (Fan Coil Unit) involves careful planning and execution to
ensure safety and prevent further damage to the surrounding infrastructure
Evaluate the extent of damage to the FCU and surrounding components. Identify any structural
damage or hazards that may affect the removal process.
Clear the area around the FCU to provide sufficient space for removal and to ensure the safety of
workers.
Remove any obstacles or debris that may impede the removal process.
Clean and clear the area as needed to prepare for the installation of a replacement FCU.
7. Supply & Installation of chilled water FCU – 1 No
Supply & Installation of Carrier chilled water FCU. Proper unit support with slotted
channels & threaded rods. Power cabling work isolator to the units
Testing & commissioning
8. Re-fixing the ceiling after installation
Refixing the ceiling after installing equipment like a chilled water FCU involves restoring
the ceiling to its original condition or making any necessary modifications to accommodate the
new installation. Painting the ceiling as existing
