Lennox walks with another lord somewhere in
Scotland, talking about what has happened to
the kingdom. Fleance, who has gone, has been
officially blamed for Banquo's death. Despite
this, both men suspect Macbeth, whom they
refer to as a "tyrant," of killing Duncan and
Banquo. The lord informs Lennox that Macduff
has traveled to England to join Malcolm in
begging England's King Edward for assistance.
Macbeth has prepared for battle after learning
about their plans. Lennox and the lord hope
that Malcolm and Macduff will be successful
and trust that their acts will save Scotland from
Macbeth.
