USA:
Immigration (multiculturalism, American myths, American Dream):
- How do you perceive the concept of the American Dream, and do you believe it's still attainable
for immigrants in today's society?
- In what ways do you think the media and popular culture influence perceptions of immigration
and the American Dream?
- Do you think it's important for people to learn about different cultures? Why or why not?
( helps individuals understand the perspectives, customs, and values of others)
- What do you think the American Dream means for immigrants? ( it becomes more
materialistic, in the past they immigrated for more freedom and independence and for rights like
freedom of speech or opinions, etc.)
Racism (struggle for racial equality, history African American, Civil Rights Movement)
- What are some examples of racial discrimination you've heard about or witnessed? ( Vinicius
junior who got called the n-word by the fans from the other team during match)
- What do you think you can do to help stop racism in your school or community? (One way to
combat racism is through education and raising awareness. Some may advocate for
implementing diversity and inclusion training programs in schools and community
organizations. These programs can help educate individuals about the harmful effects of racism
and promote empathy and understanding towards people of different backgrounds.)
- Do you know any famous people who have spoken out against racism? ( Muhammed Ali)
Gun Culture:
- What is your opinion about the gun regulations in the US? Are you for or against them? (I think
owning a gun at home or for self-protection is not a bad thing, but right now it is in my opinion
too easy to apply for a gun in the US. I have heard that you can easily go to a gun shop and show
license and FBI data base that is in some part older check if the person has some criminal records
before cases in the past where even terrorists and really dangerous people got guns in a
public store), public gun shows or private selling of guns where you often didn’t even need to
show a license
- If you were the state what would you do regarding the gun laws? Would you forbid guns at all or
what would be your approach? (I would definitely introduce a safer and more comprehensive
system when it comes to buying a gun, what comes now to my mind is for example the
introduction of an obligation to attend a safety course and perhaps even the assessment of a
psychologist. Moreover, maybe the control of more organizations, so not only the FBI but like
more security organizations that cover a wider range of people to prevent the selling to
dangerous ones.
Political system/elections, global role US:
- What role does money play in American politics, particularly in election campaigns, and how
does this compare to other countries? (Money plays a significant role in influencing policy
decisions through lobbying efforts. Special interest groups, corporations, and wealthy individuals
often spend substantial sums of money on lobbying activities to promote their interests and gain
access to elected officials. Lobbyismus also plays a role in other countries like Germany, even if it
is not that extreme, but there are still cases. For example 2-3 months ago I have heard that the
AFD got a single donation of over 260,000 euros)
