Project No.1. You , being an Architect, design a “FLOOR PLAN” of 3BHK on a chart paper for the area
of land 1000 sq feet and :

1. Calculate the surface areas of the walls and ceilings to be painted.


2. Find the cost of ceramic tiles to cover the floor@Rs110 per square feet
3. Find the cost of painting it @ Rs 150/sq feet.
4. Outline and colour the FLOOR PLAN (in different colours) (you may paste the print of floor plan)

after the summer break.

PHYSICS
1. Prepare a PPT on the topic “conservation of resources” that should include the presentation of a
working model along with principal involved, material required for construction, procedure of
construction and the contribution of this model for the benefit of society, if at all it is used as a
technology. Also try to bring the material to the school for its construction. (Take the printout of the
PPT).

Make a 3-d chart of the human eye and write the function of each part and explain the working of
eye.

2. On A4 size paper draw the ray diagram of six cases of concave mirror and two cases of convex
mirror along with the nature size and position of image. Also draw ray diagram and a table of six
cases of convex lens and two cases of concave lens to show the nature size and position of the image.

3. Prepare a scrap book with appropriate figures giving reason about the following natural phenomenon:
I) Stars twinkle
II) Delayed sunset and early sunrise
III) Scattering of light
IV) Color of sky is blue
V) Color of sun is red during sunrise and sunset
VI) Rainbow is formed.
VII) Danger signals are red in color
4. Do the following questions in scrap book:
1. Draw a ray diagram to show the path of the reflected ray in each of the following cases.
A ray of light incident on a convex mirror:
(i ) strikes at its pole making an angle from the principal axis.
(ii) is directed towards its principal focus.
(iii) is parallel to its principal axis.
2. The linear magnification produced by a spherical mirror is +1/3. Analyzing this value, state the (i)
type of mirror and (ii) position of the object with respect to the pole of the mirror. Draw a ray
diagram to justify your answer.
3. A spherical mirror produces a magnification of -1 on a screen placed at a distance of 50cm from the
mirror.
(i) Write the type of the mirror.
(ii) Find the distance of the image from the object.
(iii) What is the focal length of the mirror?
(iv) Draw the ray diagram to show the image formation in this case.
4. Suppose you want to observe an erect image of a candle flame using a concave mirror of focal length
20cm. State the range of distance of the candle flame from the mirror. List two other characteristics
of the observed image. Draw a ray diagram to show the formation of image in this case.
