Comments on your answers

If the A’s are more than four, then you may be a HOMEBODY, but if most of your answers are B, there
is a great chance that you are a YUP (or yuppie). You are most probably a HOBO if C’s are your
favourite answers.

Read the following paragraphs and decide which person is a homebody, yuppie or hobo.

hobo I am more than willing to work, but mostly for a short duration, as my main motivation is travel,
the love of the journey above the actual destination. I merely travel from town to town, finding work
when I can, but only for the sake of financing my next adventure. Never call me a bum !...

yuppie We are young urban professionals and we take the idea of competing for social status extremely
seriously, because our impetus in life is “success at all costs”. We love $7.00 cups of coffees,
European cars, designer clothing, outrageously expensive homes and watching the stock market 24/7.

homebody Of course I go outside sometimes but I actually prefer to stay inside and sleep or do
anything at home rather than go out. I think a holiday trip to a remote part of the country is never worth
giving up on the comfort of my armchair in my living room.

Language Use : Talking about future plans

B: We're not too sure. Probably we’re (2) going to stay / we’ll stay for a couple of days and then
(3) we’re deciding / we’ll decide if we want to move on. Have you made any plans for
tomorrow?
A: Yes, we’ve hired a car. (4) We’re picking / We’ll pick it up in the morning and (5) we’ll drive /
we’re going to drive around the island. We want to find the best beaches. What about you?
B: We haven’t made any plans yet. We’ll probably wait to see what the weather’s like tomorrow
and then (6) we’re making up / we’ll make up our minds!
A: Well there’s room in the car, (7)We’ll leave / We’re leaving at 9.30 , straight after breakfast.
B: Ok thanks. That sounds like a good idea. (8) We’ll let / We’re letting you know tomorrow.
