File

Visa Data Manager (VDM) provides files that contain information used to load institution-specific
files and reports, or data in other applications.

Visa Data Manager File Specifications Overview

Premium Data File

The Visa Data Manager (VDM) Premium Data File Package is an optional, billable add-on that is
generated on a daily basis and securely delivered through the platform. Visa DPS will create two files
for each transaction source (DPS and VisaNet): file one will include daily authorizations (the
“Authorization File”) and file two will include settled transactions (the “Settlement File”). The Files will
includes most transaction types processed by Visa DPS, including all Transaction, this includes
authorizations, financial and non-financial transactions. The data will include all records, on a go
forward basis only.

Similar to the Interchange File Services, actual interchange is used for all Visa, MasterCard, Accel1,
AFFN1, Pulse1, and STAR1 branded network transactions while a calculated interchange based upon
published rates is used for CULIANCE , COOP , and NYCE .

The Visa Data Manager (VDM) Interchange file is an optional, billable add-on that is generated on a
daily basis and securely delivered through the Platform.
Information provided in this file can be used to:
l Extract POS financial transactions by network.
l Compare interchange for Visa branded, MasterCard branded, and many other non-Visa
networks at a transaction level.
The Interchange file uses a fixed file format, with all fields enclosed in double quotes.
Note that the capture of specific transactions can be delayed by as much as 72 hours from the date
of a given transaction.
