Almond Avocado Clay Mask

make it now
WWW.LEARNCANYON.COM
Introduction

Making herbal face masks for cosmetic use is as easy as cooking a basic meal.
Herbal cosmetics are made up of varying amounts of water, oils, waxes, and
perfumes or perfumery ingredients. A small variation in the proportions of the
components can vary the flavor of the dish, so be careful while measuring the
ingredients. Masks have been used for facial beauty treatments since the dawn of
humanity. They are applied to the face and kept on for 10 to 20 minutes before
being rinsed away. They have astringent, cleansing, nourishing, relaxing, and
cleansing properties. These masks help to improve blood circulation and reduce
wrinkles temporarily. They revitalize the skin and make it glow. There are millions of
simple homemade face mask recipes that you may try at home to have smoother,
brighter, and more radiant skin. But I can't possibly describe them all in this short
site, so I'll do my best to cover or mention the best ones for all skin types.

These preparations are applied to the face as liquids or pastes and allowed to dry
or set with the goal of improving the appearance of the skin by providing a
tightening effect and cleansing the skin. The invigorating sense of a renewed face is
produced by the warmth and tightening effect caused by their use. While the
colloidal and absorptive mud in some packs absorbs grease and dirt from the facial
skin, when they are taken from the face, skin debris and blackheads may be
removed at the same time.

What are the qualities of such Face Masks?

It should be a smooth paste with no grit or lumps in it.

When applied to the face, it should dry quickly to form an adherent coating on
the skin, but this coating should be able to be removed later without causing
irritation, either by peeling off or by gentle washing.
It should provide the skin with a distinct tightening sensation following
application.
It should produce a significant cleansing of the skin.
It must be nontoxic and dermatologically safe.
It should not remove the natural moisture from the face.
It should have a pleasant fragrance.

What are the different types of face masks?

There are four basic types of face masks that can be prepared at home, and also
satisfy the above characteristics.

These can be classified on ingredients used such as

Waxes or oils (mainly for extremely rough/dry skin),

Rubber-based face packs ( for all types of skin)
Earth/Clays (mainly for oily skin / Normal skin),
Liquids (mainly for normal / combination / sensitive skin),
Gums (for all types of skin)

Wax-based masks usually contain a mixture of or a blend of natural waxes, as well
as essential oils, and are occasionally blended with natural clays.

Rubber-based face packs, which are mostly made of rubber latex, generate a
continuous elastic and water-intermediate coating on the face after being drawn
out, obstructing proper respiration. The film causes the skin to retain heat, resulting
in a rise in temperature and improved blood circulation.

Earth/clay-based masks with a cream base generate a layer on the skin's surface.
These masks are frequently favored because they dry quickly on the skin when
applied in a thin film, and the cleansing action is slightly superior because they
contain enough particles to absorb dirt.

We'll be learning how to make a face mask at home today professionaly.

We require a formula that will assist us in keeping our facial skin clean, brighter,
glowing, as well as smooth, and supple. It's important to note that clean doesn't only
mean devoid of dirt and grime; it also means looking fresh and healthy.

We've learned how to manufacture a variety of masks for various skin types in this
series of how-to-make. Before we move on to the formulation stage, there are a
few things we need to understand. First and foremost, we must comprehend the
necessity for such a product. This is crucial so that we can create a product that
meets all of our specifications.

We're all aware that maintaining healthy and youthful-looking skin necessitates
sticking to a strict skin care regimen. The elimination of dead skin cells is an
important aspect of this practice that should not be overlooked. Cleaning, toning,
moisturizing, massage, and other procedures are usually included in a healthy skin
routine.

A cleansing product such as soap or body wash is used to cleanse the body in
general. When it comes to scrubbing our faces, though, we prefer to utilize solutions
created specifically for delicate facial skin. Face washes are a prevalent type of
product. A face scrub is sometimes used as well. Similarly, using face packs or
masks once or twice a week is a crucial step that everyone should take.

Why Face Mask?

A face mask is a type of skincare that requires to be used only once or twice a
week.
It refreshes and rejuvenates the skin.
It aids in retaining the natural moisture of the skin. The humectants and
emollients keep the skin's horny layer moist and maintain healthy skin due to the
mask's occlusive effect, making the skin more supple.
It is a good nutrient supplier for the skin since the mask remains on the skin for
15 to 20 mins. And eliminate skin surface debris when removed after drying.
It helps to unclog skin pores, which is especially helpful for oily skin
It also helps to eliminate dry skin flakes and decreases blemishes and scars.
It improves the skin's texture and makes it soft and smooth.

Who can use the face mask?

Face Masks can be used by individuals of any age with any skin type like dry, oily,
combination, sensitive or normal.

What are the ingredients required to make the Face Mask?

A simple face mask requires a vehicle or carrier, humectants, thickeners or

absorbents, emollients or oily materials, cleansers, preservatives, and pleasant
perfume. The production of the rinse-off mask is mostly done at room temperature,
except for the heating required to dissolve the preservative and surfactants. The
dispersion of clay minerals and the homogeneous mixing of powders into the
aqueous phase are the areas that require the most attention. The mask will not be
smooth, there will be lumps in it, and the water phase may split over time if this is
not done properly.

Below is a description of the face mask that we will be making today.

Let’s see what is the role of each ingredient used in this face mask?

Note: We are preparing a clay face mask with water, a broad spectrum preservative
should be used.

Distilled water:
It acts as a vehicle and a major solvent for the water-soluble components of the
formulation. We only use water that is free of toxins, pollutants, and microbes in the
formulation of face masks. We all know by now that distilled water has exceptional
purity and has had all impurities removed from it.

Glycerin:
Glycerin is a humectant, it protects water loss from the deeper layers of the skin as
well as from the finished product. It aids in the hydration, reduction of dryness, and
rejuvenation of the skin's surface.

Glycerin soothes, tightens, and firms the skin, develops a barrier for protection ,
brightens, and improves the complexion. It's anti-aging and suitable for all skin
types, including dry, sensitive, chapped/cracked, oily, and combination.

Glycerin also has antibacterial properties, thus it can aid in the prevention of
infections.

Candelilla wax:
Stretch marks and other symptoms of aging, such as wrinkles and age spots, are
reduced by using Candelilla Wax. It is also supposed to moisturize parched and
scaly skin, making it smoother. Candelilla Wax is a well-known binding agent for
quickly fusing components.

Sweet Almond oil:

Almond oil is used to decrease bags and dark circles under the eyes. Almond oil
aids in the lightening of darker skin areas. It has anti-aging properties as well as UV
protection.

Olivem 1000:
INCI name Cetearyl Olivate & Sorbitan Olivate
Olivem 1000 is a natural emulsifier made from extra virgin olive oil. It binds oil and
water molecules to form emulsions such creams, lotions, body butters, and
conditioners. It's heated with your formulation's oil phase and then blended with the
water phase to generate a cream or other emulsion. It's a white flaky wax that
works best when the pH is between 3 and 12. It thickens a cream and increases its
spreadability.

Olivem 1000 moisturises cosmetic products and increases their hydration rate, in
addition to its functions as an emulsifier and thickening. It's gentle enough to use on
even the most delicate skin. Olivem 1000 is utilised in a variety of emulsions,
including day and nighttime creams, cleansers, facial, body and eye creams, sun
products, some colour cosmetics, hair conditioners and tanning products.

Cetyl alcohol:
Cetyl alcohol is a waxy-like solid added to a face mask to help stabilize and bind
their ingredients together. It may also make a product thicker or increase the
product’s ability to soften the skin. It's great at protecting the skin barrier from
drying out and preventing water loss from the surface of the skin.

Bentonite:
Its antimicrobial and detoxifying capabilities take dirt and excess sebum out of the
pores, reducing acne and slowing the aging process. Bentonite clay also has
moisturizing characteristics that help to heal skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis,
and ulcers.

Kaolin:
Clay face masks containing kaolin have various benefits, including acne prevention,
dry skin management, and the absorption of excess oil or sebum. Kaolin is also
considered the mildest and gentlest clay for skincare.

Sandalwood powder:
Sandalwood is a natural component that can aid with uneven skin tone and tanning
while also slowing down the aging process. It relieves any type of skin irritation.

Sandalwood EO:
Sandalwood essential oil is a very gentle perfume that has a strong effect on the
skin. It prevents acne and rashes, heals itching and inflammation, cools and soothes
sunburns, softly exfoliates, helps remove scars, and moisturizes and tones the skin
with light astringent activity.

FrankincenseEO:
Frankincense is an aromatic resin derived from the Boswellia genus, specifically
Boswellia sacra.Steam distillation of the tree resin yields the essential oil of
frankincense serrata.

Frankincense essential oil has a balsamic-spicy, slightly lemony incense fragrance

with a conifer-like undertone. It is used in the fragrance, cosmetic, and
pharmaceutical industries.

Preservative:
After preparation, preserving the product, the skin is protected from
microorganisms, a foul and obnoxious odor, and the risk of irritation or discomfort
gets reduced.

lip balm

hydrating lip balm

make it now
WWW.LEARNCANYON.COM
Introduction

Lip balm is a semi-solid product of oil & wax that is used on the lips to moisturize
and alleviate chapped or dry lips, and cold sores. Lip balm's main function is to
create an occlusive layer on the lip surface that seals moisture in the lips and
protects them from the harsh effect of sun rays and the environment. Dry air, chilly
temperatures, and wind all take moisture away from the body, causing the skin to
dry out. Lips are especially susceptible because of their thin and sensitive skin, and
they are frequently the first to show indications of dryness. Waxes and jelly are
occlusive materials that prevent moisture loss and keep lips comfortable, while
flavorings, colorants, sunscreens, and other medications can provide extra, specific
benefits. Lip balm can be applied with a fingertip to the lips, or it can be applied
with a thin, clean makeup brush.

When conventional remedies for cracked lips have failed, this earwax cure has
proven to be effective. It's one of those therapies that's bound to be ridiculed, yet
I've personally witnessed its effectiveness.

Lip balms can be prepared in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Lip balms are classified according to the ingredients they contain or for which it is
used.

1. Lip balm with UV sunscreens. This sort of lip balm can be used all year, but
especially in the summer or when visiting a location with high solar activity.
2. Lip balm that nourishes the lips. This type is best for the winter or in cold
places.
3. Lip balm that moisturizes. If you use this lip balm in the cold, your lips may not
feel comfortable because the balm gets absorbed quickly. This variety is best used
in the summer.
4. Lip balm with medicinal properties. It should be used with caution. It has
antibacterial and softening properties.

Generally beeswax and natural candelilla and carnauba waxes are used to make lip
balms. Natural edible oils, camphor, cetyl alcohol, and lanolin are other common
constituents of herbal lip balm. Natural colors, flavor, and aroma are used as other
ingredients.

Large scale lip balm manufacturing technology covers the following stages:
The quality of the raw material is examined i.e. cosmetic products must comply
with the strict safety standards
The ingredients are treated, melted, then blended together,( this stage involves
special equipment and facilities)
A vacuum is used to treat this combination (this is the stage when the bubbles
are removed from the lipstick)
Crystallization occurs in the combination
The substance is melted.
The substance is molded (it is cut into pieces which are shaped as required or
made into sticks by adding them on molds when hot)

How to use lip balm?

Remove the container's cap.

Apply a pea-sized amount to your finger from the container.
Apply the product on the bottom lip.
Apply to the top lip in the third step.
Make a rubbing motion with your upper and lower lips. This aids in spreading the
balm evenly around your lips.

What are the ingredients required to make a simple Lip balm?

Lip balms are made using beeswax, natural candelilla, and carnauba waxes. Other
common ingredients in a lip balm include natural edible oils, camphor, cetyl alcohol,
and lanolin. Other additives include natural colors, flavors, and aromas.

Beeswax:
Beeswax is particularly a base which when combined with different oils make the
product usable(semisolid). Beeswax is a moisturising component to use on dry,
chapped lips because of this. Beeswax for lips is becoming increasingly popular due
to its ability to preserve the delicate skin of your lips from damaging UV rays.
Beeswax has the power to protect your lips from all of the damage that sun
exposure can do, much like sunscreen does for your skin. Beeswax for lip balm is a
great ingredient because it possesses antimicrobial properties that perform
wonders in protecting the lips. If you're looking for a natural lip product that's free of
parabens, alcohol, and other chemicals, beeswax is a very good option. Beeswax
has a delicious flavor and scent, which is one of its main advantages. Because of its
flavor and smell, natural beeswax will make wearing it on your lips a pleasurable
experience. Beeswax for lips should therefore be at the top of your priority list if
you're seeking a natural lip balm.

Lanolin:
In lip balms, lanolin is a popular ingredient. It has a waxy feel that prevents further
chapping by covering your scaly lips. It also absorbs moisture from the air and aids
in the rejuvenation of your lips' tissues. Lanolin is traditionally used to improve
cracked and sore lips during winter.

Sweet almond oil:
Sweet almond oil Improves the condition and color of the lips. Due to its emollient
properties, almond oil has the potential to improve the texture of the lip surface.

Treats dry lips. Almond oil has been used for centuries to treat dry lip conditions, and
moisturize. The oil’s fatty acid content helps dissolve excess oil on the skin, while the
retinoids in the oil may reduce the appearance of greasiness and improve cell
turnover.

Sweet Almond oil helps in spreading the balm on your lips evenly.

Essential oil:
Acts as flavouring agent in the formulation and makes the product more
acceptable. Essential oil (fruity. Chocolate, vanilla of your choice)
Vanilla/chocolate/fruity essential oil can be used in lip balm to protect lips from
dryness and peeling. Vanilla is recognized for its luxurious smell, but it can also be
used to protect lips from dryness. Vanilla is a treasure trove of health; it replenishes
natural lip moisture and makes lips appear plump and nourished. Lip balms,
chapsticks, and lip glosses frequently contain vanilla essential oil. Furthermore, it's
employed in lipsticks of many textures, including bullet, liquid, and mousse lipsticks.
Because of its uplifting and calming scent. Any fruit essential oil can also be used,
which helps in preserving the product and protects consumers.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E has a number of advantages for the lips, they are:
Vitamin E is an excellent moisturizer that restores skin hydration and keeps it
soft and supple. It's great for chapped or cracked lips.
Vitamin E improves blood circulation and creates new skin cells, making your lips
smoother, according to research.
Vitamin E's regenerative properties can help to protect the lips by revitalizing
skin cells and bolstering the body's natural defense mechanism.
Vitamin E's anti-inflammatory qualities aid to repair and soothe damaged lips.

Face cream

Rose & Almond Face Cream

make it now
WWW.LEARNCANYON.COM
Introduction

Our body skin may appear to be similar to the skin of our face, but it differs in
several ways, necessitating special attention. The skin on our face is thinner than the
skin of our body. Of course, this change depends upon which area of the body
you're talking about, but in general, the fat layer beneath the skin on the body is
thicker than it is on the face. Another distinction is that some parts of our body, such
as the hands and soles of our feet, have an extra layer of the epidermis (the top
layer of skin) covering them. The skin on the body has a naturally slower skin cell
turnover rate, which results in drier, thicker, and scalier skin. Because it takes longer
for existing skin cells to be replaced by new ones, dead cells can linger on our body
for longer, making it appear dry, dull, and flaky. The skin on the body has fewer oil-
producing sebaceous glands than the skin on the face, with the largest
concentration in our t-zone, open pores, whitehead, blackheads, acne, pimples are
more of a problem.

Body creams are not the same as facial creams. A face cream has more active
ingredients and is tailored to specific needs such as brightening or moisturizing the
skin. Body lotions, on the other hand, are mostly used to address issues about firming
or deeply moisturizing your skin.

Creams have been made since the dawn of time by combining fragrant gums,
resins, roots, flowers, and other ingredients with fats and oils. Creams and lotions
are emulsions, which are oil, fat, and water mixes that are relatively stable. Oil-
soluble and water-soluble chemicals are mixed together in the presence of an
emulsifier to make these. Initially, only two types of creams were developed and sold
in the market: the first was cold cream, which was made specifically for dry skin,
and the second was vanishing cream, which was made specifically for oily skin. Anti-
pimple creams, anti-wrinkle creams, BB creams, CC creams, cleansing creams, and
many other facial creams are available today.

In today's blog, we'll talk about a cream that will provide nutrition to the face
(Whatever the skin type may be).

Who is this cream suitable for?

This cream with Rose & Almond is appropriate for the individuals where they notice
dull lifeless skin, black spots, freckles, pigmentation, clogged pores, or signs of aging,
such as wrinkles, This cream is also suitable for extremely damaged and dry, flaky
skin caused by pollution, cold or dry weather, sun damage, harsh soaps,
overbathing, excessive use of makeup products, or extreme environmental factors
such as UV rays, extreme cold climates, or occupational hazards such as exposure
to harsh chemicals, etc.

Which ingredients does it contain and why?

The raw materials included in the formulation are listed below, along with their
purposes and distinctive features, as well as the rationale for their inclusion.

Distilled water:
It acts as a major solvent for the water-soluble components of the formulation. We
only use water that is free of toxins, pollutants, and microbes in the formulation of
cosmetics and personal care products. We all know by now that distilled water has
exceptional purity and has had all impurities removed from it.

Rose hydrosol:
Rose hydrosol is the water soluble fraction of rose distillate, which is obtained
during the manufacture of rose essential oil.
Rose hydrosol is known for soothing the skin and making pores appear smaller. The
anti-inflammatory benefits of rose hydrosol are well-known.

Glycerin:
Glycerin is a humectant. Glycerin helps in the retention of moisture in the skin. It can
help to hydrate the skin, reduce dryness, and rejuvenate the skin's surface.

It's also an emollient, i.e it softens the skin.

Glycerin moisturizer, creates a calming sensation, tightens and firms the skin,
provides protection by creating a barrier, smooths the skin, exfoliates, brightens and
improves the complexion, can be combined with other ingredients, is anti-aging,
and can be used on all skin types including dry, sensitive, dry and chapped/cracked,
oily, and combination skin. Glycerin also has antibacterial qualities, thus it can help
to keep the skin healthy. Glycerin prevents the product from drying out during its
lifespan.

Panthenol:
Panthenol is a stable form of vitamin B5. B5 can bind and hold on to water
effectively, resulting in skin that’s soft and moisturized. Hence, panthenol is known
for its repairing, soothing and moisturizing properties. Panthenol is used in this
formulation as it can help in effortlessly spreading the serum and achieve complete
coverage.

Another advantage that panthenol holds over other common moisturizing

ingredients is that it acts as both an emollient and a humectant. Emollients seal any
cracks in the skin, and humectants attract water to the skin.

Dermofeel PA3 -
It is a natural chelating agent that can be used instead of EDTA. When used with
cosmetic antioxidants, it has a synergistic effect. The pH of the partially neutralized
substance is 3. For ease of application, the substance is diluted to a liquid state.
Chelating agents are substances that bind with metal ions and are essential for
cosmetic stability and efficacy.

Chelation is a method of stabilizing metal ions by preventing them from interacting

chemically with other compounds.

Rose extract:
The pleasantly fragrant extract absorbed into the skin is soothing, softening, and
moisturizing dry skin. Like rose hydrosol, the extract is said to reduce signs of aging
like fine lines and wrinkles.

Beeswax:
The function of beeswax is to thicken the formula. It binds the other ingredients
together.

On the skin, beeswax can form a protective coating. It's also a humectant, attracts
moisture, and does not allow it to dry. Both of these characteristics might aid in
keeping the skin moisturized.

Makes skin soft by removing dead skin cells.

Making a cream out of beeswax can serve double duty in terms of keeping your skin
soft and nourished.

Sweet Almond oil:
The dried kernel of the Almond tree is used to make Almond Oil. It is a light oil that is
high in vitamins A, E, and B, as well as Oleic and Linoleic essential fatty acids.
Almond oil is a popular emollient because it absorbs quickly into the skin. This oil is
known for its ability to relieve itching, dryness, and inflammation in the skin. Reduces
puffiness and under-eye circles.

Almond oil Improves complexion and skin tone. Due to its emollient properties,
almond oil has the potential to improve both complexion and skin tone.

Treats dry skin. Almond oil has been used for centuries to treat dry skin conditions,
including eczema and psoriasis.

Improve acne condition. The oil’s fatty acid content may help dissolve excess oil
on the skin, while the retinoid in the oil may reduce the appearance of acne and
improve cell turnover.

Helps reverse sun damage. Vitamin E, one of the nutrients in almond oil, helps
reduce damage to the skin caused by UV exposure.

Reduces the appearance of scars. The vitamin E content may contribute to

helping smooth the skin.

Calendula infused in jojoba oil:
This is obtained by covering the dried calendula flowers with Jojoba Oil. This
calendula-infused jojoba can be used straight for dry or blemish-prone skin, or it
can be included in creams, balms, and other products as an ingredient. Calendula
has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as the ability to hasten
wound healing. These characteristics make it particularly useful in creams and
mixtures for problematic skin.

Preservative eco:
After preparation, preserving the product, the skin is protected from
microorganisms, a foul and obnoxious odor, and the risk of irritation or discomfort
gets reduced. For example,

Geogard Ultra™ (Patented)

INCI Name: Gluconolactone & Sodium Benzoate

Key Product Benefits:

Has a wide range of global regulatory acceptance
Broad spectrum activity
ECOCERT/COSMOS-accepted, NATURE-approved and Soil Association-
approved
Wide applicability

The synergy between the two components is what distinguishes this preservative,
allowing for its broad spectrum activity. Organic acids are typically too weak on
their own and require the addition of a co-preservative or booster to operate at
their best. This blend's gluconolactone works in tandem with sodium benzoate to
provide an effective preservative enhancer that is also non-GMO. The
gluconolactone in Geogard UltraTM works by gently releasing gluconic acid over
time, which aids in preservation.

Geranium EO:
Geranium oil contains antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties that aid
in the healing of wounds and the soothing of inflamed skin. This can also be used as
a natural cleanser to remove dead skin cells, restore the skin, and renew it.
Geranium Oil's astringent properties and anti-aging properties help to decrease
acne breakouts, balance oily or congested skin, and tighten skin. Geranium
increases the contractions of the skin muscles and tissues, so the skin does not
droop, the facial skin tightens, resulting in fewer fine lines and wrinkles, and it keeps
the skin toned and firm. It promotes the health of skin cells and a uniform
complexion. Geranium essential oil has a relaxing impact and the capacity to
relieve anxiety and stress due to its sweet, uplifting flowery aroma.

Introduction

While most of us have a proper cleansing, toning, and moisturizing routine for our
faces, we frequently overlook the rest of our bodies. No amount of emphasis can
overstate the importance of treating your body's skin with the same care and
attention that you do your face. Moisturization is probably the most important
aspect of skincare. Moisturization has numerous benefits, including softening the
skin and preventing bumps and dryness.

As I mentioned in my previous blog (How to Make Cream at Home? ), I've already

discussed the distinction between body and facial skin, so I won't go over it again
here; instead, I'll discuss the distinction between cream and lotion. Creams, as we
all know, are emulsions, which are reasonably stable oil, fat, and water mixtures. To
make these, oil-soluble and water-soluble compounds are combined in the
presence of an emulsifier.

The lotion is typically a liquid product that is applied to the skin in order to cleanse
and maintain its health. It not only cleans the skin, but it also helps to maintain its
moisture balance. As previously stated, the primary function of lotions is to supply
moisture and humectants to the horny layer. Depending on the purpose of the lotion,
other types of ingredients are added for softness, astringency, and cleansing
effects.

The main components of lotions are Purified water, Humectant, Softening agent,
Emollient, Solubilizing agent, Thickening agent, Perfume, and Preservative. So, if you
know how to make cream at home, you'll discover that making lotion is a breeze.

Why prepare a lotion?

Body lotion is ideal for normal to slightly dry skin because it is more easily absorbed
by the skin due to its lower viscosity than cream. It is less greasy than cream and is
ideal for use during the day and during the hot summer months.

There are different types of lotions:

1. Transparent lotion: (Watery)

In this type, you can use only water-soluble or miscible ingredients. To prepare
transparent lotion, dissolve the humectants in the purified water at room
temperature. The preservative, perfume, emollient, and solubilizers are then
dissolved and solubilized in the water phase. Finally, add the water-soluble actives,
filter, and store in containers.

2. Semi-transparent lotion:
These lotions are shaken well before application, as the actives may settle at the
bottom or may form a creamy layer at the top.

To make semi-transparent lotion, dissolve the humectants in purified water or oil.

The preservative, perfume, emollient, and solubilizers are then added in the water
phase with trituration. Finally, add the actives, mix thoroughly, and store in
containers.

3.Oily lotion:
In this type you can use only oil soluble or miscible ingredients. To make oily lotion,
dissolve the ingredients in carrier oil. The preservative, perfume, emollient, and
solubilizers are then added in the oil phase with trituration(Heat on water bath only
if required to melt any ingredient). Finally, add the actives, mix thoroughly, and store
in containers.

4. Milky lotion
They are emulsions that contain little oil and have high fluidity.

Milky lotions have a much higher proportion of aqueous components than oily
lotions, so they have a strong affinity for the skin and spread easily. Milky lotions are
ideal for summer use because they are non-oily and have a light texture. They are
also suitable for skin types ranging from normal to oily. The different types of milky
lotions are

Emollient lotion, Moisturizing Lotion, Cleansing Lotion, Nourishing Lotion, Nourishing

Milk, Massage Lotion, Sunscreen lotion, Sun Protect lotion, etc.

In today's blog, we'll look at how to make a milky lotion with nutritional oils such as

Introduction

We have already begun a blog series in which we introduce our students to simple
herbal cosmetic recipes that can help them improve the condition of their skin and
eliminate any type of skin problem. As you are aware, these blogs are published as
part of the "How To" series. The best part about this series is that it contains not only
simple recipes, but also a wealth of scientific knowledge.

We require an effective formulation that will assist us in keeping our bodies clean. It
is important to note here that clean does not only mean free of dirt and grime, but it
also means looking fresh and healthy. Impurities and dead skin are removed by
scrubbing. It also removes excess oil from the skin's surface, which is a major cause
of acne.

We all are aware that, for healthy- and fresh-looking skin we need to follow a
stringent skincare routine. In this routine exfoliation or removal of the dead skin cells
is an important part and one should not miss out on it. A healthy skin routine will
generally include a number of steps right from cleansing, toning, moisturizing,
sunscreen, etc.

In general, a cleansing product such as soap or a body wash is used to cleanse the
body. However, when we need to cleanse our back, neck, hands, legs, or other parts
of the body that have been neglected, we prefer to use products designed
specifically for cleansing the body's skin. Body wash or body gel is frequently used.
We must understand the distinction between a body wash and a body scrub.
Definitely, a body wash is a product that is usually smooth and textured and is used
to remove oil and dirt from the skin's surface. It cleans the skin on the body's
surface. It is not abrasive and does not irritate the skin. A body scrub, on the other
hand, is a product that contains gritty particles that are specifically used to
exfoliate dead skin cells and then wash them away.

So, what should you do to keep your body skin clean and free of oil and dirt? It is
critical and necessary for a good skincare routine to include products that are both
effective and safe for the user.

So, one option is to use a body scrub that has a good exfoliating effect and
removes oil and dirt from your skin while not damaging it.

Now is the time to start creating your own body scrubs.

Today we are going to learn:

How to make a body scrub at home?
What exactly is a body scrub?

Body scrubs are a type of skincare product that exfoliates the skin. It aids in the
removal of dead skin cells from the skin's surface, reducing the likelihood of clogged
pores and acne breakouts. The coarse particles in facial scrubs aid in exfoliation.
When you use a body scrub, the granules rub against your skin, removing all of the
debris that has built up in your pores. It also removes dead skin cells, leaving your
skin smooth and soft. By incorporating a good body scrub into your weekly skincare
routine, you can achieve healthy, beautiful skin.

Why BODY SCRUB?

A body scrub is used basically for the following benefits it gives to the skin:

It helps to remove the dead skin cells by exfoliation and hence also improves the
skin's absorption capacity.
Improves the skin texture and makes it soft and smooth.
Extremely effective in treating suntan and protects skin from further damage
If your skin gets dull, lifeless, and oily quite soon in the day, then use this scrub to
control the oil.
Body scrub is a gentle exfoliator and is perfect for sensitive skin too.

Who can use the body scrubs?

If your skin gets dull, lifeless, and oily quite soon in the day, then use this scrub to
control the oil. If there are signs of suntan, dirt, grime deposition due to outdoor
workplace or even if you are tired working in front of the computer.

Body scrubs can be used by individuals with any skin type like dry, oily, combination,
sensitive or normal skin types.

What are the basic ingredients in a body scrub?

Any scrub is formulated with a combination of a few basic ingredients like

Carrier oil:
Carrier oils include sweet almonds, coconut, jojoba, safflower, rosehip, sunflower,
grapeseed, argan, evening primrose, and others. Carrier oils used should be light in
nature and do not leave a heavy or oily film on the skin's surface. They are easily
absorbed by the skin and contain a variety of active ingredients.

Exfoliant:
There are two major types of exfoliants. Physical (sometimes known as mechanical)
and chemical exfoliants. Physical exfoliants use particles or granules, as well as
equipment like washing brushes, to remove dead skin cells. Exfoliants that use
chemicals (such as salicylic acid and retinoids) to weaken the links between dead
skin cells so that they can be dislodged exfoliate the skin. A chemical exfoliator
unclogs the pore by going deep into it.

Body scrubs can be formulated in different ways and forms. Some may be dry
powders, some suspensions, gels, cream, etc.

Cleansers:
These are emulsifiers and possess an affinity for both oil & water. They are excellent
cleaners for body wash and Scrubs.

Hydrating Shower Gel

Introduction

If your regular shower routine sounds like a morning shower to start the day or an
evening bath to wash away the day's tiredness, it's time to change things up. What if
we told you that every shower you take can be more than just a wash and go?
Switch from body soaps to shower gels to transform showering into a rejuvenating
ritual.

Showers can be a great place to unwind and relax, and using scented shower gel is
a great way to get started. However, how the shower gel smells can either make it a
pleasant or a more-than-pleasant experience.

Shower gel is a specialized liquid product that is used to clean the body while
taking a shower. Shower gels, not to be confused with liquid soaps, do not contain
saponified oil. Instead, it employs detergents derived from plants.

Shower gels have a lower pH value than traditional soap, making them less drying to
the skin. In some cases, sodium stearate is added to the chemical combination to
produce a solid shower gel. Men's shower gels may contain menthol, which provides
a cooling and stimulating sensation to the skin, and some men's shower gels are also
designed for use on hair and body. Shower gels have milder surfactant bases than
shampoos and, in some cases, gentle conditioning agents in the formula. This means
that shower gels, even if not labeled as a hair and body wash, can serve as an
effective and perfectly acceptable substitute for shampoo and a bath soap. Using
shower gel to wash your hair should produce roughly the same results as using a
moisturizing shampoo.

WHY SHOWER GEL

Shower gels provide good foaming ability.

It has cleaning effectiveness, as well as mildness to prevent skin irritation or
over-drying.
Conditioning agents are added to the product to moisturize the skin both during
and after use.
Provide long lasting fragrance.

Shower gel is classified as transparent or non-transparent (there are also pearl-look

products). They are classified into three types based on their formulation: alkaline
(soap-type), weakly acidic, and neutral (combination-type).

It's time to start making your own shower gel.

Today we will learn how to make a Hydrating Shower Gel at home.

toxins, pollutants and microbes in the formulation of shower gels and personal care
products. We all know by now that distilled water has exceptional purity and has
had all impurities removed from it.

Neem extract:
One of the many skin benefits of neem extract is that it treats skin disorders caused
by bacteria. Neem's antibacterial properties fight acne-causing bacteria, aiding in
the treatment and prevention of acne. Neem extract when added in product to be
applied externally calms irritated skin, fights the signs of aging and takes care of
blackheads and whiteheads.

Ginseng extract:
Ginseng extract has many skin benefits, including reducing wrinkles and signs of
aging, promoting elasticity and collagen production, reducing puffiness and

How to Use Shower Gel?

1. Rinse your body thoroughly with lukewarm or slightly warmer water to generate
steam in the shower. This will help open your skin's pores and allow the goodness of
your shower gel to penetrate deeply.

2. It's a no-brainer to wash your hair first and then your body, because everything in
a shampoo washes down your body. As a result, you should wash your hair first to
remove any shampoo and conditioner residue that has accumulated on your skin.

3. Apply about two tablespoons of body wash to your loofah and lather it all over
your body.
The rich lather of a shower gel exfoliates the skin very well and aids in the removal
of dead skin layered on the skin.

4. Scrub your body thoroughly in gentle motions to avoid abrasions on the skin. After
you've finished showering, pat yourself dry with a soft towel.

Introduction:

When you wash your face at night, you should aim for more than just makeup
removal. There should be some product that removes leftover skincare and
environmental pollutants that can lead to premature aging and skin problems such
as acne. Additionally, it should smell like a dream come true. This product should not
only remove all of your makeup and skincare at the end of the day, but it should also
use healthy antioxidants and ultra-rich oils and butters to dramatically soften your
skin. You'll wake up with skin that's so soft that everyone will think you just had a
facial.

There are several ways to remove makeup, including oils, foams, soaps, scrubs, and
wipes, but our favorite way to get a deep clean is with a cleansing balm. You've
probably guessed by now that we'll be learning all about cleansing balms in today's
blog. Balms are well-known for their ability to dissolve makeup and rejuvenate the
skin without causing irritation. They are also suitable for all skin types and skin
problems. If you have still not decided about preparing a cleansing balm of your
own? Then here's everything you need to know about them, as well as the reasons
why we adore them so much.

What is meant by cleansing balm?

Cleansing balms are creamy, rich cleansers that remove dirt and impurities without
drying out your skin or removing its natural oils. Balms can be used to remove eye or
lip makeup because they are often made with natural ingredients that will not
irritate sensitive skin.

How to use a cleansing balm

Applying a cleansing balm with dry hands on dry skin(which is not wet) is ideal.

1. Take 1 teaspoon of cleansing balm, try to melt it by performing circular movements

between your dry fingers of both hands.
2. After it has been melted, gently massage it into dry skin (which is not wet) in
circular motions. If you wear eye makeup or lip make up, spend more time
massaging the eye & lip area to ensure that all of the makeup gets mixed in the
balm.
3. Once the makeup has dissolved, apply lukewarm water to the skin and massage
in gentle circular motion.
4. Lastly, wipe away with a warm, damp cloth or cotton pad. After removing the
cleansing balm, your skin will feel clean and refreshed.

Why Cleansing Balm?

A cleansing balm is an oil-based cleanser with a more semi solid consistency. The
oils in cleansing balms not only help to break down makeup, but also to clean away
dirt, sunscreen, and other products from the skin. Because the balm contains not
only oils but also nourishing emollients and waxes, it is able to cleanse the skin
without leaving it dry. It provides Multi-Miracle Glow to your skin. It's a lightweight
but powerful cleanser that melts away makeup and gently removes impurities
without stripping the skin. It deeply moisturizes the skin as it cleans.

Who can use cleansing balms?
They are especially beneficial to people who have dry, dehydrated, or sensitive skin.
Cleansing balms are effective for these skin types because they provide an
immediate increase in moisture to the skin and are gentler when removing makeup.
This keeps the skin nourished and soft without causing irritation or redness. It is a
common misconception that cleansing balms are only beneficial to people with dry
skin. In fact, oily skin types can benefit as well because the oils in the balm gently
break down excess oil on the skin leaving skin soft and supple.

Our formulation of Cleansing balm contains butters and oils with cleansing
ingredients. These cleansing ingredients are known as "surfactants, or surface active
agents" and they are an essential component of a good cleansing balm. Without
surfactants, the oils in the balm will not wash away from the skin, resulting in
clogged pores, excess oil, and breakouts. The silky, oil-based formula is the
wonderful way to a cleaner, clearer complexion, no matter how many layers of
sunscreen or waterproof mascara you've applied throughout the day. Once you start
double-cleansing, you'll never leave it.
