Wireframe about the app with written
suggestions on improvements about its
interaction design
1. Ride Time Accuracy- I think the app designer should use a better satellite
system to ensure the ride time is accurate and the time the driver will take to
reach the user is accurate. The designer should use a satellite system which can
track the traffic between the destination and the origin of the ride to give a more
accurate duration of the ride. If the app gives a promising time of arrival then it
will be good for the user as he can plan his schedule according to that. This will
improve the reputation of the company and attract more users and definately
retain the old ones.
2. Chat Bot- The chat bot of the app is completely outdated as it has answers
of only few questions and does not give proper instructions. Morover, it gets hang
and even the design or avatar is old which gives a really bad expression to the user
and hence the user is not tempted to use the app. If the chat bot is attractive and
gives prompt service and gives answer to all the queries the user feels nice and
hence uses the app. The app designer should read the comments and queries of
the users and add their queries to FAQ that will also help.
3. Advanced Features for Drivers- The app should improve the experience
for drivers by adding more analytic features for the drivers. Their should be a
feature which shows that the certain area has less drivers at a time so the drivers
can go their for multiple riders option and it will help the riders as well because
they will have to wait less for rides. This way their will be an equilibrium of rides
and riders in a specific area in a given time. Moreover, the app should show
drivers that their income per mile in given periods so that they can easily analyse
that what time is busy time and how does that busy time affects them. For
example, if a driver is working at office end time then he will get more rides but
he has to also analyse that how will the traffic affect his ride duration. Meaning if
the a driver is working at night then he can have make five rides in one hour
because of less traffic but if he is working during rush hours then he can do only
one ride per hour which is a big difference.
4. Reward System- I believe that almost all the big apps have a reward system
so this app should also implement that which will increase the sales. For example,
the company should give 10 points after every ride and give one free ride after
100 points which mean 10 rides which has to be done in one month. So, this way
we are encouraging riders to use the app 10 time in a month for one free ride.
And that one free ride should be the median price of the 10 rides. I think this is a
great idea which the company should implement to generate more sales.
5. Updated Payment Features- Currently, the app has very less payment
options and the payment options are widely used but they are losing sales by npt
providing regional and local payment options. Due to which their sales is getting
affected. Moreover, they are not using cryptocurrency as a payment option. These
days the younger generation is using cryptocurrency as payment method because
of dividend and stocks going high will result in more money for them.
GUIDELINES FOR DESIGNING INTERACTIONS
FOR MOBILE DEVICES IN THE CARPOOL
WORLD APP:
1. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS: Implementing the push notifications aligns
with the best practices for keeping all the users informed about the updates
of rides, all the new messages and every important alert on a timely basis.
2. SECURITY AND TRUST: The In-app payment option provides users
a trust by keeping their transaction and financial details secured within the
app which also reduces the need of any external methods of payments.
3. CONSISTENCY AND FAMILARITY: The wireframe of the app
maintains a consistent layout and navigation structure of the app also the
mobile app design conventions that the users get familiar with.
4. USER CONTROL AND FREEDOM: Users have freedom to edit,
cancel or view the ride details from the dashboard or menu option which
allows them to control the interactions of the app.
5. CLEAR CALLS TO ACTION: The wireframe of the app offers the
users to have access to the prominent buttons like “Joining a ride” or
“Calling the driver” which makes it easy for the users to see and take their
next step in the journey.
6. SIMPLE AND INBUILT NAVIGATION: The header menu of the
app gives a clear and consistent structure of how to navigate the
throughout the app. Users can easily access to their account, profile, ride
details, manage their rides, search for the rides and many other things.
7. USER CENTERED DESIGN: The wireframe of the app offers the
users need by showing the “FIND A RIDE” or “BOOK A RIDE” button on the
home screen itself. This caters the main goal of the app.
8. EFFECTIVE FEEDBACK AND ERROR HANDLINGS: The
app can provide immediate feedback made by the user and error handling
guidelines to the users if they face error using the app.
9. THE RESPONSIVE DESIGN OF APP: The wireframe of the app
should be made responsively to make sure the app works well on all kind of
devices , address the all kinds of guidelines and orientations.
DESIGN PATTERN FOLLOWED FOR
SUGGESTIONS AND HOW TO USE THEM:
1. BOTTOM NAVIGATION BAR: This pattern is commonly used for
mobile apps to provide quick and inbuilt navigation.
2. FILTER AND SORT PATTERN: This option aligns with the filter
and sort pattern which enable users to refine their search results and
prioritize them.
3. RATING AND REVIEWS PATTERN: Provides a space for users to
rate and review their rides and drivers and build trust with the community.
4. PERSISTENT USER PROFILE: Allows users to access their
profile, account information, settings, ride history and many other options.
IMPROVEMENT IN EMOTIONAL
INTERACTIONS IN YOUR PROPOSED APP
RESDESIGN:
1. Personalized User Profile Options- I will put features for creating
avatar profile picture just like snapchat, user will also have the option to post
his own photo as well. Moreover, the user can post his bio which other people
can read so they know who the are going to share the ride and it will make
them more comfortable to use the app. It will kind of increase the security of
girls as well.
2. Advertisement- I will add a feature which will help the user to find
mates for their car pool. For example, if a girl goes to school everyday and she
wants to find a mate who goes on the same route everyday , she can post it on
the app and find a mate whom she is comfortable to go on the same route
everyday with less cost. It will increase the sales of the app drastically.
3. Improved Rating System- Instead of using star system for rating, use
emojis as emojis convey emotions far better than the star. Especially girls love
emojis as expression.
4. Personalizes Messages- Instead of using a general system for
advertisement add the name of the user in pop up messages it gives a warm
feeling and makes the user comfortable and happy.
5. Messaging- The app should use messaging features so the users can chat
and be comfortable before using the app. Moreover, the ride will be fun for
them instead of being acting like strangers. Who knows that a car pool would
become a tinder date for couples as well. This could get famous among
youngsters very fast.
6. Safety Features- The app should include safety badge for drivers as well
as users also. Which means the app should give a badge on the profile of
drivers and users whose identity has been verified by the app by providing
them their government id and home addresses.
7. Inclusion of Local Languages- People feel comfortable in their local
languages so I think we should add local languages which can help in having
an emotional bond with the app.
8. Surprise Discounts or Promotions- Give users discounts or
promotions during their local festivals. It will help them making feel like we are
a part of their culture and make them feel like we are a part of their family.
