SCENARIO

. On February 12, 2024 at about 7:00 PM. A Stabbing incident was transpired at
Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City. A group of 3 persons
identified as the victim Yuri Mei y Han, 21 years old, born on August 24, 2002, single,
student, native and residing at Blk 7 Lot 3 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina
City and witness Rana Mendoza y Cruz, 22 years old, born on May 13, 2002, single,
student, native and residing at Blk 5 Lot 3 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina
City while suspect identified as Merry Lao y Hernandez, 22 years old, born on January 2,
2002, single, student, native and residing at Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina
Heights Marikina City. The 3 girls were friends and decided to have a get together. While
they were drinking and having a conversation suddenly the suspect asked the victim
about her boyfriend. The victim was said having an affair with the boyfriend of the suspect.
She kept on asking the victim what’s between her and her boyfriend but the victim doesn’t
admit anything that made the suspect mad and grabbed the knife on the table in front of
them and quickly stabbed the victim on its stomach and chest. The witness tried to stop
them. When the suspect realized what she did, she immediately ran away.

FACTS OF THE CASE:

On February 12, 2024 at about 7:00 PM. A Stabbing incident was transpired
at Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City. A group of 3 was
in the incident. One was the victim, one suspect and one witness. The witness
called the police after the suspect ran away. Victim was stabbed on its stomach,
chest and bruises on its arms from fighting back. The suspect was identified as the
friend of the victim and the witness.

2. This pertain on a Stabbing Incident at about 7:00 PM on February 12, 2024 at

Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City. A group of 3 persons
identified as the victim Yuri Mei y Han, 21 years old, born on August 24, 2002, single,
student, native and residing at Blk 7 Lot 3 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina
City and witness Rana Mendoza y Cruz, 22 years old, born on May 13, 2002, single,
student, native and residing at Blk 5 Lot 3 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina
City while suspect identified as Merry Lao y Hernandez, 22 years old, born on January 2,
2002, single, student, native and residing at Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina
Heights Marikina City.

3. Upon the initial investigation, the Stabbing Incident happened on estimated time
of 7:00 PM. The three (3) of them was having a get together. While the victim and suspect
was talking about the suspects boyfriend, the suspect got frustrated because the victim
was not admitting what she was doing with the suspects boyfriend. The suspect grabbed
the knife on the table in front of them and stabbed the victim on her stomach and chest
tried to stabbed her again but she tried to fight for a self defense but it caused the victims
arms to get wounds and bruises from the suspects knife. The witness tried to stop them
and when the suspect got the knife out of her hand, she immediately ran away. When the
police arrived at the crime scene, the victim was lying on the floor. Immediately, the police
investigators took an action and made an investigation.

5. As of this writing, the victim is temporarily on Amang Rodriguez Memorial

Medical Center (ARMMC). Based on the medical examination, the victim's injuries were
one stab wounds on her stomach and chest and bruises on her arm. Upon the arrival on
the hospital, the victim was declared dead on arrival.

Police Station Sub-Station 6 requested a fingerprint examination in the knife that was

P/CPT Duke F Reyes in Marikina City.

2. This pertain on Stabbing Incident on 7:00 PM, February 12, 2024 that was transpired
at Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City. A group of 3 persons identified
as the victim Yuri Mei y Han, 21 years old, born on August 24, 2002, single, student, native and
residing at Blk 7 Lot 3 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City and suspect identified
as Merry Lao y Hernandez, 22 years old, born on January 2, 2002, single, student, native and
residing at Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City.

3. As the result of the autopsy examination the victim had an abdominal injury, causing for
it to have abdominal organs bleeding, stab wound on the left chest that injured the right ventricle
and bruises on its arms.

4. The suspect was arrested by the hot pursuit operation. Suspect identified as Merry
Lao y Hernandez, 22 years old, born on January 2, 2002, single, student, native and
residing at Blk 9 Lot 2 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City. She was
arrested in the old house near the crime scene. The suspect was caught because of a
concerned citizen that pointed out where she was hiding. After the officer informed its
Constitutional Right the immediately brought her at crime laboratory to conduct a
fingerprint examination.

I, Jane M. Han, 53 years old, married and is a resident of at Blk 7 Lot 3 Champaca
St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City deposed and state the following:
1. That, I was at home making dinner for my daughter, Yuri M. Han, February 12,
2024 at
around 8:35 P.M.
2. That, someone called, I saw my daughter’s friend, Rana M. Cruz, crying thru the
phone.
3. That, I asked Rana M. Cruz if she is okay, but she did not respond and just cried
while saying my daughter’s name.
4. That, I realized something is wrong, I tried to ask Rana M. Cruz again.
5. That, knowing where they are I ended the telephone call, and immediately rush
outside and ran as much as I can.
6. That, when I arrived at the place of Merry L. Hernandez, one of Rana M. Cruz
and my daughters friend.
7. That, I heard a girl screaming for help in front of Merry L. Hernandez house.
8. That, I entered the house and saw my daughter soaking on her own blood. I
cried and screamingly ask Rana M. Cruz what happened and she told me that
Merry L. Hernandez was at fault.
9. That, I called a police and told them the incident even though Rana M. Cruz
already called them.
I am filing a case of MURDER against MERRY L. HERNANDEZ because of the
aggravating circumstance of treachery when she killed my daughter Yuri M. Han.

AFFIDAVIT OF WITNESS

I, Rana Mendoza y Cruz, 22 years old, born on May 13, 2002, single, student, native
and residing at Blk 5 Lot 3 Champaca St. Brgy. Marikina Heights Marikina City, after
having sworn in accordance with the law, do hereby depose and state THAT: On February
12, 2024, at 7:00 PM. I was with Merry Lao Hernandez and Yuri Mei Han. We were having
a get together and decided to drink at Merry L. Hernandez place. While we were drinking,
Merry L. Hernandez suddenly talked about her boyfriend having an affair with one of her
friends. It was impossibly me. She pointed out Yuri M. Han and asked her what’s between
then and Merry L. Hernandez boyfriend. Yuri M. Han doesn’t want to admit anything even
when Merry L. Hernandez showed her the evidence that she was with Merry L. Hernandez
boyfriend. She kept on asking why she did it to her and then suddenly Merry L. Hernandez
grabbed the knife on the table in front of us. With no hesitation, Merry L. Hernandez
stabbed Yuri M. Han two times in different part of her body. I tried to stop her but she was
full of anger and too strong to be stopped. When she realized what she did, she
immediately ran away from the incident.

Subsequently, I reported the incident to the police officers, providing the identities
of both the victim and the suspect.
I have executed this affidavit to affirm the truthfulness of the aforementioned facts
and to support the filing of a criminal case against the suspect. IN WITNESS WHEREOF,
