NUTRITION MONTH 2024 CELEBRATION
GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS
Theme: " Sa PPAN: Sama-sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat."
JULY 31, 2024
1. TLE : COOK-OFF
Objectives:
Showcase the learners’ culinary skills and creativity.
Offer an opportunity for learners to engage in friendly culinary competition.
Appreciate the technological advancement used in culinary arts.
Mechanics:
1. Each section should have at least nine representatives for the cooking contest.
2. Each dish category has class representatives, 3 for vegetable dish contest, 2 for appetizer contest, low-
cost dishes and salad making contest.
3. Each representative should wear their respective PPE.
4. Each team should submit their recipe before July 29, 2024.
5. Each representative should create their own dish name.
6. The representatives should bring their own ingredients and culinary equipment and tools to use before
or during the cook-off. Portable gas stoves and gas canisters are now permitted, provided they are
non-electric and easily transportable.
7. The representatives will only be given 1 hour and 30 minutes to prepare their dish.
8. Each team should prepare two garnished dishes for the judging: one for the presentation and another
for tasting.
9. The use of MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) is strictly prohibited.
10. Hot serves should be served hot, and cold dishes should be served cold.
11. A declaration of the top three winners will be made in each category.
12. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.
Submission:
1. Each team should submit their recipes before July 27, 2024.
2. (Low-cost Dish Category. The receipt should be submitted on July 30, 2024.)

2. POSTER MAKING CONTEST
Objective:
Showcase the learners’ skills and creativity through a poster that is visually appealing, informative,
and effectively conveys the chosen theme.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all bona fide Grade 7-9 students of Holy Cross High School, Inc.
2. The students will be grouped into teams with a maximum of three members each.
3. The poster must be relevant to the theme.
4. The participants must use 1/8 illustration board and should bring their coloring materials.
5. The preparation of materials and the artwork must be completed on-site during the allotted
T.L.E./Computer/Robotics hours. Afterward, the respective subject teachers will collect the posters. If
the work is not finished, it will be returned for completion at the next meeting.
6. A declaration of the top three winners will be made.
7. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.

1. Each team should submit their poster on July 29, 2024.

3. 3D DIGITAL SLOGAN CONTEST
Objectives:
Showcase the learners’ skills and creativity through a digital slogan that is visually appealing,
informative, and effectively conveys the chosen theme.
Students will develop their graphic design skills using digital tools.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all bona fide Grade 10-12 students of Holy Cross High School, Inc.
2. The students will be grouped into teams with a maximum of three members each.
3. The slogan must be relevant to the theme.
4. The slogan must be original and not previously published or entered in any contest.
5. The slogan should be a three-dimensional artwork that has height, width, and depth. Numbers of the
word must not exceed to Ten (10) words.
6. The participants may use Photoshop, Paint, Canva, or any other related software for the 3D digital
slogan.
7. The preparation of materials and the artwork must be completed on-site during the allotted
T.L.E./Computer/Robotics hours. If the work is not finished, it may be completed at the next meeting.
8. Entries must be printed in A4 size (8.27” x 11.69”) at 300 DPI in a landscape format.
9. A declaration of the top three winners will be made.
10. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.

1. Each team must submit their digital slogan by July 29, 2024.

4. OBSTACLE RACE
Objective:
To challenge students' physical abilities, agility, and problem-solving skills by navigating through a
series of strategically designed obstacles.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of Holy Cross High School, Inc.
2. There will be a total of 10 teams. Each team consists of 12 participants, with 2 students from each
grade level (Grade 7-12)
3. Each station has a specific task or challenge related to nutrition and fitness.
4. Teams must complete the task at each station before moving to the next one.
5. All team members must participate in the tasks at each station.
6. The race timer starts when the team begins the race. The timer stops when the last team member
crosses the finish line after completing all stations.
7. No member should be left behind; all members must reach the next station together.
8. Each team will be timed individually to complete the race.
9. The team with the shortest total time will be declared as the winner.
5. MR. AND MS. FIT AND FAB
Objective:
To promote health and wellness awareness among students of all year levels at HCHSI by showcasing
physical fitness and creative expression.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of Holy Cross High School, Inc.
2. There will be two representatives in every year level: male and female.
3. Each year level representative must submit a printed picture on A4 photo paper according to the
specified grading criteria. The picture must feature half-body exposure wearing white t-shirt and
include elements that symbolize the theme, such as vegetable designs or attire.
4. Tickets are distributed for voting among the student body. Sales of the tickets will be remitted and
40% of the collected amount from ticket sales is returned to the respective year level.
5. Winners are determined based on:
70% from the number of tickets sold.
30% from the judging of the submitted pictures based on the grading criteria.
6. The year level should provide their own box for the tickets of their representatives.
7. One male and one female representative from each year level are awarded as Mr. and Ms. Fit and Fab.
8. Additional award will be given Mr. and Ms. Photogenic by the judges.
9. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.

6. MR. AND MS./MRS. TEACHER IDOL
Objective:
To celebrate and recognize the outstanding contributions of teachers and staff members at HCHSI.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of Holy Cross High School.
2. Tickets for Mr. and Ms. Teacher/Staff Idol are distributed along with Mr. and Ms. Fit and Fab tickets.
3. Students will write the name of their chosen teacher or staff idol on tickets and drop their tickets into
a designated box outside the faculty room.
4. The teacher or staff member with the highest number of voted tickets wins the title of Mr. or Ms.
Teacher/Staff Idol.
7. HCHSI FACULTY AND STAFF BIGGEST LOSER/GAINER
Objective:
To promote health and wellness among our faculty and staff members through a structured weight
management initiative.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to HCHSI Faculty and Staff
2. The participants will have a weigh in at the beginning of Nutrition Month by undergoing an initial
assessment with the school nurse, who will measure their weight and height.
3. The participants will set personal goals for weight loss or weight gain, in consultation with the school
nurse if needed.
4. The participants can have regular check-ins with the school nurse to monitor their progress.
5. The weigh-out will take place at the end of the school year, ensuring a sufficient duration for
participants to work towards their goals.
6. Recognition and incentives will be given to participants who achieve their goals or show significant
progress.
8. WELLNESS ZUMBA FOR A CAUSE
Objective:
To promote physical fitness, unity, and community outreach among students of HCHS through a a
unified wellness Zumba session.
Mechanics:
1. The contest is open to all bona fide students of Holy Cross High School, Inc.
2. The event will feature a unified wellness Zumba session where the students will follow Zumba leaders.
3. The session will have 3 rounds/routines. After each routine, a 2-3 minute water break will be provided
between each routine to ensure participants stay hydrated and refreshed.
4. A compulsory registration fee of 20 pesos per student will be collected. 40% of the proceeds will
support the feeding program of partner communities identified by the school's outreach officer.
Working students and select Zumba leaders are exempted from paying the registration fee upon
verification.
5. Each participating section will be assigned specific colors for easy recognition by judges during the
event.
6. Sections will be judged collectively, and a declaration of top 3 winners will be conducted based on
performance and participation.
7. Individual awards (Zumba Star) will be given for outstanding participants.
8. The judges’ decisions are final and irrevocable.
