StartNow is a self-learning platform for aspiring and

early-stage entrepreneurs
Key Challenge:

Yunus Environment Hub wanted to build a guided learning platform for potential Social Business
entrepreneurs located in the East African region where they will be able to structure the different
elements of their business plan into a compiled and structured document that serves them as their
business plan.

Impact:

StartNow online platform is used as support for the training of social business entrepreneurs. The
aspiring entrepreneurs interact on a self-learning platform and build their business plan within 8
weeks. The objective is to blend online-of ine experiences for the entrepreneurs to advance on the
creation and testing of their business plans, as well as providing them with tools to track their
progress after nalizing the self-learning experience. The process is accompanied by weekly
mentoring sessions to provide peronalized and constant feedback. When the mentees nalize the
online course, they join our StartNow community where they can nd new opportunities and peer
support.

empower communities through access to safe drinking water.
Key Challenge:

Powwater aimed to develop a mobile water platform for clean water deprived communities
in Africa, taking into account the three different users involved, locals technology skills and
availability of resources.

Impact:

Powwater aims to improve lives by ensuring sustainable access to safe and clean drinking
water for the deprived communities across the world. With this vision, Powwater has
launched its very rst mobile water platform, which will connect the consumers with local
clean water providers. The mobile water platform also empowers consumers by providing
them with a transparent, reliable, and quality water source in Africa. This initiative of
Powwater will also create employment opportunity for local and build a sustainable market.
