Narrative Report:
Numeracy, the ability to understand and apply mathematical concepts in
real-life situations, is a crucial skill for individuals and societies. The Department
of Education ( DepEd ) recognizes the importance of numeracy and has
implemented various initiatives to enhance mathematical literacy among
learners.
One such initiative is the administration of a standardized numeracy test, which
aims to assess student’s mathematical understanding and identify areas for
improvement. The numeracy test is a vital tool for assessing and improving
numeracy skills among Filipino learners. It is designed to assess learner’s
mathematical abilities, identify learning gaps, and inform educational
interventions
Laois Elementary School, headed by Ma’am Rosalyn F. Mercado together
with all the advisers from grades 1 – 6 administered Numeracy Test ( Pre and
Post Test ) last February 8, 2024 and April 18, 2024 respectively. Results from
the pre – test who are non – numerates were given remediation or intervention
while the numerates were given enrichment activities.
