Fixed Gas Detectors ( Xgard Type 1 )
Exia Intrinsically Safe toxic and oxygen gas detector using an electrochemical sensor within an Xgard
enclosure, which also contains the amplifier/transmitter to provide a 2-wire 4 to 20mA output. Operating
temperature -40 to +50°C (range varies for some sensor types, contact Crowcon if detectors are to be
used at extremes of temperature).
A Zener barrier or galvanic isolator is required for I.S. hazardous area operation.

Fixed Gas Detectors ( IRMax )
IRmax is a compact infrared (IR) gas detector which delivers rapid, fail-safe detection
of hydrocarbon gases and vapours. The IRmax gas detection system offers the choice
of a detector only, a local gas/status display, a remote gas/status display or non-intrusive
calibration via an I.S. calibration tool or hand-held HART communicator.
IRmax is compatible with any 4-20mA control system, and as an option, can also be
installed on an RS-485 Modbus addressable network (requires an auxiliary junction box).

Xgard Bright is a versatile platform offering flammable and toxic gas detection and oxygen
monitoring, while providing ease of operation and reduced installation costs.
Providing analogue 4-20mA and RS-485 Modbus signals as standard, Xgard Bright comes
with an Alarm and Fault relay as standard as well as optional HART communications.
Lowering the cost of installation, the 4-wire addressable implementation drastically reduces
cabling requirements. The large OLED display allows users to easily work with Xgard Bright
during install, calibration and routine maintenance without the need to open the housing.
Certification:
Xgard Bright is ATEX and IECEx Ex II 2G db IIC T6 Gb flameproof certified for use in Zone
1 or 2 hazardous gas areas and Ex II 2D tb IIIC T80°C Db certified for use in Zone 21 or 22
hazardous dust areas.

Fixed Gas Detectors ( Flamgard Plus )
Exd Flameproof flammable gas detector with LCD display and non-intrusive calibration. Uses a poison resistant
pellistor sensor located in a 316 stainless steel flameproof housing. Complete with a marine grade alloy junction
box which contains an amplifier/transmitter to provide a 3-wire 4-20mA output. A 3-digit LCD display with backlight
and LED status indicator provide a user-interface, and calibration is performed using a magnetic wand (supplied).
