Executive summary
1. The following report and recommendations that relate to Event Fusion limited
to be established at Lugogo house, Kampala.
2. The proposed project will require a start capital of $2000, made up of $900nin
fixed assets and $1100 in working capital.
3. The enterprise vision is to make the clients a memorable and pleasurable
experience and be outstanding events company in Uganda.
4. The company will be sited in Kampala where over 4000 marriages are
registered each year which creates a sizeable market potential.
5. Based on our market survey, a ready market and available online customers
do exist for the planned business.
6. The financial project ions do reveal a good level of liquidity and stability.

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION
Event fusion limited is a start-up company that provides wedding, commitment
ceremony, engagement ceremony and anniversary consulting services to brides,
grooms and their family members. We are a full serviced bridal consulting group
whose main goal is to ensure that there is fun in planning for a wedding or any other
functions.

According to our experience, majority of the people become frustrated and over
stressed when it comes to the planning of these wonderful events. We are
experienced consultants and we do use our expertise to help in creating these
moments memorable and wonderful and also be a stress free event for our clients.
We also do create weddings that are suited according to the couple’s unique style
that represents a true expression of their relationship and individuality as a couple.

Vision
To make the events of the clients a memorable and pleasurable experience to offer
a host of packages and services specially tailored to the need of each and every
client of ours.

Mission
To provide consulting services for all types of functions. To create the events of their
dreams, provide answers to etiquette questions as well as a full service referral to
floral, hairstylists and makeup artists, entertainers and also musicians so as to make
the event a lively and glamorous event.

major clients, the company will provide services to others such as corporate retreats,
etiquette training, get together etc. this customer segment is estimated to have an
annual volume of 1000 orders in Kampala.

MARKET

Service offered
We are a full service wedding consultant group and provide the following services:
etiquette advice, event scheduling, discounted invitations and products, vendor
confirmation, rehearsal attendance, supervision of both ceremony and reception
setup and budget planning. Although occasions is primarily a service business, we
also offer products to aid our customers in planning the event themselves.

Product description
The following products are tools used inside our operation for the best possible
results:

a. Party pack : the party pack is a complete kit for any party. It includes
decorations, lighting effects guide, disposable theme cameras, cutlery, plates,
napkins, cups, drinks, snacks, table cloths, theme music , invitations, thank
you cards, amd a step by step guide to planning , putting together and hosting
the event.
b. Step by tep guides: these booklets include a calender to map out the event, a
step by step guide on what is needed for and how to put together a
successful, worry free event , resource information, popular refreshment with
games, recipes, and tips to put their event in the record books. The events
available include birthdays for all ages, meeting, retreats, parties, vacations,
and special occasion celebrations such as graduation, holidays, showers,
weddings, and receptions.;
c. Event fusion software: due to be released august 2020, this cutting edge tool
will alow the client all the resource and visual aids for their event planning.
They will be able to play with the decoration themes, listen to theme music,
design invitations, thank you cards, and RSVP cards, use the interactive
planning calender and much more. This software will bring their event into the
millennium with cutting edge technology that is designed to save time and
money.

Nature and size of market.


The market needs for wedding planning services are strongly shaped by the
customers desire to have a perfectly planned and executed wedding ceremony.
Although both major customer segments plan and budget for the wedding ceremony
a year or more in advance, they often realise that they cannot make all the
necessary preparations by themselves in a cost effective manner. Strongly affectd
by the established social values, such customers seek professional advice to ensure
that all the important aspects of the wedding ceremony meet or exceed perceived
expectations.

Target market.
Event fusion will offer its services mostly to the brides and grooms and to their family
and friends mostly in kampala and other states as well. The company will position
itself as an experienced provider of wedding planning services but will also render
services for other occasions such as birthday, anniversaries and et cetra.

Market segmentation

1. Private Organizations and Businesses


Private organizations make up the single largest portion of Occasions' client
base. Private organizations such as businesses, corporations, and political
parties host the most events on the largest scales, therefore, these events
generate larger revenues per event. The majority of larger scale holiday
functions will fall under this segment.

2. Public Organizations
Government agencies host many events every year. Occasions hopes to
alleviate the pressure of event planning for public employees. The second single
largest segment, the public sector, can save money and give back to its
community at the same time. These events are moderate in scale with middle to
low revenues generated. Emphasis is placed on the visibility of the event for
public viewing. The majority of organizational family functions will fall under this
segment.

3. Age Breakdowns

o Under 24: Persons under the age of twenty-four (24) using an event planner
are rare at best. We hope to tap the early college graduates who have
begun their professional careers but have not yet started their families.
These events will focus mainly on themes with moderate to high energy
appeal. The revenues generated will range from moderate to high,
depending on the event. The majority of weddings will fall into this segment.

o Ages 25-55: The persons that fall into this age group are employed, middle
to upper-middle class families. The reason they choose event planners is
they are too busy to do it themselves. Therefore, Occasions will be on hand
for questions, contact will be moderate in length but occur regularly so as
not to disturb the daily life of the families. These events will generate
moderate revenues, with a few generating low revenues. The majority of
special occasion planning will occur in this market segment.
o Ages 56 and above: Persons over the age of 55 have reached the turning
point of life. Many are retiring, others are celebrating anniversaries of
significant years, and still others are seeing that their children's special
events are taken care of. These events will generate moderate to high
revenues depending upon the income level of the family (direct correlation
to social status). Most holiday parties, and other special occasions, such as
wedding receptions and reunions, will occur in this market segment.

4. Other
This segment has no direct information to compile for a description. It consists of
any event planned that does not fit into one of the above categories.

Target Market Segment Strategy

Our target markets are middle to upper-middle class families, couples, individuals, or
private and public organizations. We chose these groups because they are most
able to afford event planners, and have the least amount of time to spare for event
planning in general. Families demand attention, employees are overburdened, and
overwhelming detail needed to plan large events are too large a constraint to place
on people not trained in the area of event planning.

The fast pace of the world we live in leaves little time for extra things we would like to
do, like plan events, parties, and social get-togethers. Occasions fills the need by
being available to take on the burden of planning so that people can spend time on
more important things, like family and friends. The demand for this service can only
increase considering the rise in incomes, population, and need for interpersonal
relations in the workplace.

Product
It is an existing product in Uganda. Event fusion is located at the lugogo house
along lugogo bypass. It’s located opposite isbat university and a walking distance
from the shoprite supermarket lugogo. Customers in Kampala can access our
product and don’t need to go to town since they can’t afford expensive wedding
planners. We provide affordable prices and we have come near you. You can
access our services and products on our websites and our packages and we can
deliver them to you.

Price
We want to keep the prices kind of low. We did market research and we found out
that our customers have an earning from 500,000- 2,5000,000. Our prices are
ranging from 500,000 - 1,000,000 and we provide quality services.

Promotion
We are going to advertise on local newspapers and radio. Since the newspapers are
regularly bought so other people would get to know about our event planning
company and most people also listen radio. Event planning is very important to our
customers during the festive season.

Products description
We provide services of all kinds that are suitable for each and every type of function.
Our services and products are of high quality and are affordable to everybody
despite of their budget, they get what they had planned for and it is all within the
budget.

Sales strategy
Since we are the only event planners around and are opening soon, we want to
provide with better and quality products, so there is customer loyalty. We also want
to attract customers to buy our products. We have planned on giving gifts to our first
50 clients.

The government can also help this industry to grow by imposing favourable rules an regulations
whoch would help in the development of thses busninesses. Eg reducd taxes.
