Course Summary
The Sensor & Instrumentation is electrical and electronics based course which
encompass sensor and measuring devices applications in laboratory and
Industry. It is useful for students in Electronics, Electrical and Mechatronics &
allied disciplines. The course is significant to Mechatronics students as it is one
of the preliminary course to understand Automation in industry in a better way.
It is a theory course based on the use of electrical and electronics instruments
for measurements. The course deals with topics such as Principle of
measurements, Errors, Accuracy, Units of measurements and electrical
standards. It also provides fundamental knowledge of sensor requirements,
construction and its application in monitoring physical parameters like
temperature, pressure, level, flow measurement, speed etc.
