Evaluation and Selection of Top Teams

The evaluation and selection of the Top 100 Teams in the School Innovation Marathon
will be conducted by a joint jury panel comprising members from the Ministry of
Education, Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), and the Ministry of Education’s Innovation
Cell (MIC). The evaluation process will be two-staged. Initially, all projects will be
assessed by multiple jury members based on parameters such as Novelty,
Usefulness, Feasibility, Scalability, and Sustainability. Projects will be scored on an
online platform to ensure transparency and consistency. In the final stage, the top-
scoring projects will undergo another comprehensive review by a panel of experts
jointly appointed, who will then select the top teams for recognition and funding
support. This rigorous evaluation process ensures that only the most innovative and
impactful projects are chosen.

Funding support for Top teams

The top teams will receive funding from Ministry of Education (facilitated by MIC) for
activities including IP filing, prototype refinement, mentorship, commercialisation and
others. Detailed guidelines for fund usage will be provided. Additionally, top teams will

The Top teams will also receive internships via the Student Innovator Program (SIP).
The Student Innovator Program is a bridge that connects the journey from being a
student-innovator to a student-entrepreneur. Through SIP, the student teams will be
trained in product development, marketing, business and entrepreneurial skills.
Incubation Centres and industry partners provide mentorship and resources to the top
teams, nurturing their ideas and helping them develop a complete product. The Top
200 teams from SIP will further become a part of the Student Entrepreneurship
Programme (SEP). SEP is an extensive program in collaboration with the industry for
young innovators to pursue their innovative and entrepreneurial ideas along with their
education with the objective of developing a market-ready product via the mentoring
and training support provided by partners.

aims to celebrate and recognize the exceptional efforts of students, teachers,
principals, districts, and states. It will highlight the remarkable achievements and
creativity demonstrated throughout the marathon, fostering a spirit of innovation and
