1.Prepare journal entries:

b) Withdrew from bank to pay for goods purchased ₹ 500.
c) Purchased stationery ₹ 200 by cheque.
d) Sold goods for ₹ 5000 for cash.
e) Paid salary of ₹ 500 by cheque.
2. Journalize the following:
i. Goods uninsured worth ₹3,000 were destroyed by Fire
ii. Paid ₹ 2,500 as wages for construction of cycle stand shed.
iii. Supplied goods costing ₹600 to Misha issued at 10% above cost less 5% Trade discount.
3. Journalize the following transactions in the books of Ravi.
1. Sold goods costing ₹ 40,000 to Ashok for cash at a profit of 25 % on cost less 20% trade discount and
paid cartage ₹ 200(not to be charged from customer.)
2. Purchased goods from Rahul ₹ 25,000 less trade discount 20% plus
3. Paid ₹ 1500 to the landlord for Rent. One third of the premise is occupied by the proprietor for his own
residence.
4. Goods damaged by fire ₹ 1000 and insurance company accepted a claim of ₹ 800.
4. Pass journal entries for the following:
a) Bought goods at a list price of ₹ 25,000 from Madan less 20 % trade discount and 2 % cash discount and
paid 40 % by cheque.
b) Received first and final dividend of 60 paisa in the rupee from Gupta who owed us ₹ 10,000.
c) Sold 40 shares of TISCO Ltd. @ ₹ 18 per share, Paid Brokerage ₹ 15.
5. On 28th March , goods worth ₹ 80,000 were destroyed by fire. The stock was insured and the insurance
company admitted a claim of ₹ 60,000 only. Show how this transaction will be recorded in the books.
6.Stock at the end of the year was ₹ 1,00,000 of which 50% was valued at 10 % less and 20 % was valued at
20 % more. Calculate the value of stock.
