Time: - 90 Minute SUBJECT: BIOLOGY Marks: - 50
General Instructions:
 The question paper comprises four sections A, B, C and D.
 There are 20 questions in the question paper.
 All questions are compulsory.
 Section–A - question no. 1 to 5 - all questions are of one mark each. These questions contain multiple
choice questions (MCQs), very short answer questions and assertion - reason type questions. Answers to
these should be given in one word or one sentence.
 Section–B - question no. 6 to 11 are short answer type questions, carrying 2 marks each. Answers to these
questions should in the range of 30 to 50 words.
 Section–C - question no. 12 to 17 are short answer type questions, carrying 3 marks each. Answers to
these questions should in the range of 50 to 80 words.
 Section–D – question no. - 18 to 20 are long answer type or Case study/Source based study questions
carrying 5 marks each. Answer to these questions should be in the range of 80 to 120 words.
 Wherever necessary, neat and properly labelled diagrams should be drawn.

SECTION A
1. In the question the Assertion (A) and Reason (R) have been put forward. Read both the [1]
statements and choose the correct option from the following.
Assertion: The region outside the seminiferous tubules is called interstitial spaces, which
contain Leydig’s cells.
