Hi, this is Rich and today | will be showing you a full colour
scheme for the Sons of Medusa Space Marine chapter using a
Clean and assemble the miniature. I'm going to paint the gun arm
separately, making the body easier to paint. Make sure to dry-fit
any sub-assemblies then use Blu-tac to mask off the contact points.
Finally, attach the assemblies to suitable painting handles.
The first step is to undercoat the entire miniature using Mechanicus

Using an airbrush, apply a base coat of Park Green Flat over the
whole miniature. Thin your paint and apply as many coats as
required for an even solid finish, in this case 3 coats were
sufficient.Celestra Grey Model Color Black Incubi Darkness

Block in all the details using the following colours:
+ Helmet: Celestra Grey
+ Bolter Casing, Chest Aquila, Shoulder Pad Trim, Belts and Pouches: 50/50
Black & Incubi Darkness
+ Metal Details: Gunmetal
+ Bolter Aquila: Retributor Gold
+ Eye Lenses: Khorne Red
Use a wet palette to help you keep the paint thin and do as many coats as
required for a smooth finish.
At this point, make sure that you tidy up any mistakes so that it all looks neat,
ready for the washes to be applied.Nuln Oil + Lahmian Medium

this to the recesses of the helmet and eye lenses.STEP4 lees einen een
Make a 50/50 mix of Biel-tan Green and Lahmian Medium and
apply this to the green armour.
Apply this all over the armour. As you go along, using a damp
brush, remove any excess wash from the upper most parts of any
flat areas of the armour. This will make goings a little easier when
we start to highlight the armour.

Nuln Oil

Apply a wash of Nuln Oil all over the black and metal areas.
Use a wet palette to thin the wash slightly and when the first pass is
dry, if you feel any of the recesses need further shading, apply a
second coat.STEP 7 lets" ensrs
Reapply the Park Green Flat to the armour. This does two things: it
knocks back the wash colour, re-emphasizing the main colour that
we want the areas to be and acts as our first highlight, leaving the
washes in the recesses.
As | was going along reapplying the Park Green Flat, | felt the
armour needed further shading so | applied some thinned down
Incubi Darkness to the recesses.

STE P 8 © wale) @ r0:569 (Vallejo) @ 55.950 (Vallejo)
Make a 75/25 mix of Park Green Flat and Verdigris and start to build up the
highlights on the armour by layering this mix on top of the highlights from the
previous stage.
Using the wet palette to keep the paint thin will help you to keep the transitions
between the layer highlights subtle. Apply to the raised areas that you feel would
naturally catch the light according to the direction of your imagined light source.
Apply a couple of coats to get a solid highlight, making sure to leave room to add
further highlights on top.
Finally for this stage, | added further definition to the metal armour joint/piping
recesses with some watered down Vallejo Black.

Apply a glaze of Bloodletter to the eye lenses.
Apply a glaze of Zandri Dust to the boots. This is optional but a
little weathering is a nice touch.
To freehand the tactical squad marking on the right shoulder pad |
firstly sketched out the shape | was looking to make on a piece of
paper — a large triangle sat on top of a smaller rectangle.
Find the centre point of the shoulder pad and paint the outline on
using thinned down Vallejo Black.
When doing freehand it is important to think very carefully about
the marks you are making before doing them. This helps minimise
mistakes which can be very difficult to correct.
In this case any mistakes with your outline can be corrected with
some thinned down Park Green Flat.
When you have your outline how you want it, simply fill in the
shape with more of the thinned down Vallejo Black.

Finish the lenses with dots of Dead White and Ice Yellow applied to the top and
bottom corners respectively.
Apply any relevant transfers. We are going to turn the transfer applied to the
left shoulder pad into the Chapter symbol by free handing eight spikes around
the edge of the transfer.
Again, sketch out on a piece of paper the design you are looking to achieve.
When you are ready paint on the North, South, East and West spikes. These
will now act as a guide for the placement of the remaining spikes.
Finally, thin down some of the Forge World Bone Dust weathering powder and
wash this over the base. When it dries you should have an attractive parched
earth look to the base.Matte Varnish \ ‘Ardcoat

Attach the weapon arm and apply two coats of matte vanish over the whole
miniature. When dry gloss varnish the eye lenses with ‘ard coat and apply a
litle static grass to the base — your marine is now finished!
