Dear hiring Manager,
I wish to apply for the position of a care assistant.
I have been an active member of a Healthcare team, providing compassionate care in
a safe environment to a defined caseload of residents within homecare settings. My
area of specialization is taking care of the elderly, especially those with dementia. I have
a good knowledge of dementia and how to take good care of patients experiencing
mental health, dementia, and learning disability, and that is why I believe this offer is for
me.
I always strive to improve the quality of healthcare of patients I’m privileged to care for
especially those experiencing mental health, dementia, and learning disability, care and
support them through continuing professional development by communicating openly
and effectively while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patients.
My expertise over the years has opened me up to understanding how patients relate,
communicate, feel and act. This has enabled me over the years to adequately perceive
their desires, wishes and preferences, and finding the best way to satisfy them typically
by working in partnership with other healthcare personnel. I ensure the patients’
comfort, dignity and privacy at all times. I always complete the mandatory work of
recording patients’ activities and changes noted while on duty, supporting with activities
such as care plans, food and fluid charts, weight charts, and so on. As a qualified carer,
I apply a deep passion for the task and the flexibility the work brings. This has helped
me to grow over the years and most importantly given me the enablement to perform
well each and every time as a carer.
I am a well-organized, calm, empathic, motivated, compassionate, observant, flexible
and loyal carer with the needed care skills.
