Single OS
Ubuntu:
1 Download Ubuntu ISO File:
2 Install and Launch VirtualBox:
Download and install Oracle VirtualBox from the official website.
Launch it after installation.
3 Create a New Virtual Machine:
Click on "New" in VirtualBox.
Name your virtual machine (e.g., Ubuntu).
Select Linux as the type and Ubuntu (64-bit) as the version.
4 Add the iso image of ubuntu
5 Allocate Memory (RAM):
Set the amount of RAM(base memory and processor) to be used by
the virtual machine
6 Create Virtual Hard Disk:
Choose "Create a virtual hard disk now".
Set the hard disk .
7 Start Ubuntu Installation:
Start the virtual machine, and it will boot from the attached ISO.
Follow the Ubuntu installation prompts (select language, keyboard,
etc.).
Choose "Install Ubuntu" and follow the instructions (select
installation type, set username, password, etc.).
8 Complete Installation and Reboot:
Once the installation is complete, reboot the virtual machine.
Windows
1. Download Windows ISO File:
o Download the official Windows ISO file from the Microsoft
website or other valid sources.
2. Install and Launch VirtualBox:
o If not already done, install and launch Oracle VirtualBox.
3. Create a New Virtual Machine:
o Click on "New" and name your virtual machine (e.g.,
Windows 10).
o Select Microsoft Windows as the type and choose the
Windows version (e.g., Windows 10 (64-bit)).
4. Select and add Windows ISO image
5. Allocate Memory (RAM):
o Set the memory allocation for your VM. 4GB (4096 MB) or
higher is recommended for smooth performance.
6. Create Virtual Hard Disk:
o Choose "Create a virtual hard disk now".
o Allocate at least 30GB of disk space for Windows
installation.
7. Start Windows Installation:
o Start the VM, and it will boot from the Windows ISO.
o Follow the installation steps (choose language, region,
partition, etc.).
8. Complete Installation and Reboot:
o Once the Windows installation completes, reboot the VM.
Dual OS
1 Download ISOs:
Download the Windows ISO from Microsoft and Ubuntu ISO from Ubuntu’s
official site.
2 Create a New VM:
In VirtualBox, click New, name it, set the type to Windows and allocate RAM
(e.g., 4 GB).
3 Create Virtual Disk:
Create a virtual hard disk (VDI, at least 50 GB) and choose Dynamically
allocated or Fixed size.
4 Install Windows:
Boot from the Windows ISO, choose Custom Install, and create two partitions:
o One for Windows (30 GB).
o Leave space unallocated for Ubuntu (20 GB).
o Follow the instructions or prompts like language , password,regio,etc
5 Prepare for Ubuntu:
After installing Windows, shut down the VM, remove the Windows ISO, and
insert the Ubuntu ISO.
6 Install Ubuntu:
Boot from the Ubuntu ISO, choose Something else, and install Ubuntu in the
unallocated space .
7 Complete installation processes:
Follow the Ubuntu installation prompts (select language, keyboard, etc.).
Choose "Install Ubuntu" and follow the instructions (select installation type,
set username, password, etc.).
8 Dual Boot Menu:
Reboot and click f12 for boot menu and choose between Ubuntu or Windows.
