The road is your home, from coaching inn to coaching inn, and your calling is travel
itself. Your buggy companion carries you and yours from place to place, both beast of
burden and family. You are alive. Your care is bright, forward looking, and never
alone.

Choose a name and some pronouns.

Choose an animal:

● Horse ● Elephant
● Ox ● A fast animal
● Greyhound ● A strong animal

Choose 2 you are and 2 you wish you were:

● Reliably on time ● Brave

● Stoic ● Imperturbable
● Observant ● Fast
● Charming ● Sure-footed
● Strong ● Unflagging
Choose a companion bug, or a matched pair:

● A stag beetle, it is sturdy and/or resolute.

● A grasshopper, it is confident and/or adventurous.
● A pillbug, it is resolute and/or mighty.
● A ladybug, it is dramatic and/or inquisitive.

Choose a vehicle:

● None but a good saddle, you ride your bug directly, it is well trained and
empathetic toward you.
● A rough wagon that is worn and mended, it can carry a lot of cargo,
uncomfortably.
● A sprightly stagecoach that is carefully painted, it holds a few passengers in
comfort.
● A brightly coloured carriage that has been in your family for three
generations, it is homely inside.

Choose 3-4 to describe your look:

● Tall riding boots and heavy ● A sharp glance and a keen eye
gloves ● A warm welcome
● A wide-brimmed hat pinned up ● A crisp blouse with a high collar
on one side ● A hummed tune
● A bulging satchel ● An eyepatch
● Dusty breeches ● A gruff demeanor
● A heavy overcoat
Choose 2 places you have often been, and 1 you have promised to yourself
never to go again:

● The Floating Mountain. It is a metropolis and a castle.

● A famed coaching inn run by a renowned frog. It is a road and a tavern.

● A great and distant city. It is a metropolis with a university.
● A town destroyed during the rebellion. It is a ruin with only a
graveyard.

Ask 1 to the left and 1 to the right:

● What of yours do you entrust to my care?

● Where did I take you last, and why?
● When did we arrive somewhere moments too late?
● How did I show you that timing is everything?
Some things you can always do:

● Explain that it is important to be on time.

● Pat your bug.
● Have heard about this place.
● Offer to carry a burden for someone. They get a token if they accept
your offer.
● Go faster.
● Say that it is time to move on.

During each seasonal holiday, choose 1 that you haven’t before:

● Tell the story of the trade you used to have before taking up this one.
Find a playbook, and add choices from any two lists in it to your own.
● Each season, you can add a Tavern to one place that you visit, as an
extra Nature.
● Exchange your Vehicle for another from the list.

journey.
