INTRODUCTION
1.1 Introduction to interior design
What is interior design?
 Interior designing is systematic arrangement of linen, forms,
texture, colors etc. To create beauty in interiors.
 Interior design is the art and science of creating functional
and aesthetically pleasing spaces that meet human needs.
 Interior design is a science as well as an art of understanding
clients behavior to create functional spaces within a building.
 Decoration is an art of furnishing or adorning of a space with
fashionable and beautiful items.
 The objectives of interior design and decoration is to create:
• beauty
• expressiveness
• functionality
1. Beauty is organization, selection and arrangement of
materials into an appealing form. It should be aesthetic and
appealing.
2. Expressiveness selecting, decorating and furnishing
an area to express some definite idea or theme in it. These
themes could be naturalness, sophistication, coolness, royalty,
formality etc.
3. Functional all areas should give the maximum of service,
comfort and pleasure for the minimum of care.

There are many factors that go into interior design

1. Sustainability : The materials used in interior design can impact the environment, including resource
depletion, climate change, and pollution. To be more sustainable, designers can use materials with low
embodied energy, such as wood, or shop locally for materials. They can also use recycled materials, like
reclaimed wood.

2. Color: Colors can have a significant impact on mood and productivity. For example, blue can help reduce
stress, yellow can increase happiness, green can promote balance, and purple can inspire creativity.

3. Space planning :Interior designers optimize space usage to ensure comfort, accessibility, and flow.

4. Lighting :Interior designers use natural and artificial light sources to create ambiance.

5. Acoustics :Interior designers manage sound levels and minimize noise.

6. Furniture : Interior designers select and design furniture that serves both functional and aesthetic purposes.

7. Accessories : Interior designers add finishing touches with decorative items, artwork, and plants.

8. Creativity: A core skill for interior designers, creativity allows them to conceptualize unique designs that
impress clients.

minimize negative environmental impact. Interior designers can achieve
sustainability in interior design using renewable, recyclable, and
biodegradable materials..
• It is a perfect combination of natural and artificial creations that will have a
greater impact on your health and lifestyle.
• An interior design environment is a space that's created using the art and
science of interior design.

Interior environments are places where al human needs are
exposed. They are the most intimate spaces where our physical and
physical health is affected by many bad factors we have inflicted upon
ourselves

and attractive spaces. They assess room needs, plan decor and furniture
based on size and use, draft designs, and estimate costs. They also make
sure to follow laws and rules for building plans and inspections.
