Statement of Purpose
I am writing to express my enthusiasm for the Master's in Data Science program at Kent State University.
With a background in Mathematics with Computing and hands-on experience in programming and data
analysis, I am eager to deepen my knowledge and skills in data science to create an impact in the society
by being a valuable key player.
In as much as I would like to say I had the dream and passion of being a data scientist from an early age
I would be lieing, i agree have had a solid foundation in mathematics but never did I imagine being a
data scientist untill the hype of artificial intelligence late 2023, well I became curious and right there the
spack of wanting to learn machine learning got my undivided attention. I simply fell inlove with data
science because of it's functionalities, I will feal proud to be called a data scientist.
To fit my wants i developed a keen interest in Python, completing a certificate course that further
enhanced my programming skills. I believe that proficiency in Python is crucial for effective data
manipulation and analysis especially the pandas library, and I am eager to explore more advanced
applications of this language in the context of data science, However am more than intermediate in
seaborn and sckitlearn.
Kent State University stands out to me due to its strong emphasis on practical applications and the
opportunity to work with experienced faculty who are leaders in the field. I am particularly drawn to the
university's focus on integrating data science with real-world problem-solving, and I am excited about
the potential to engage in hands-on projects that will further develop my skills.
I am also an international student who values diverse perspectives and collaborative learning
environments. I look forward to the opportunity to engage with peers from different backgrounds, to me
this is networking of another leverl,I will be happy and honoured if admitted. I am committed to
contributing to the academic community at Kent State University and am particularly interested in
participating in research projects that align with my interests in predictive analytics, machine learning,
and data visualization.
In conclusion, I am confident that the Master's in Data Science program at Kent State University will
provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a meaningful impact in the field. I am eager
to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to contributing to the
innovative work being done at Kent State.
