LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION
In my current capacity as, HOD of Department of CS, in BIET, Davangere, I am writing to you to
support the candidature of Mallikarjun G H for the Masters in Computer Science program
at your reputed institution. It has been 4 years that I have known this applicant, and taught him
the subject Machine Learning and AI, during his Bachelor’s course.
While teaching Machine Learning and AI subject in the 7 th semester, I interacted with him
several times inside and outside the classroom. He was instrumental in writing the proposal for
Govt. of Karnataka under “New Age Innovation Network” on the topic “Smart No-Parking
Detection System” for which Govt. of Karnataka has granted Rs. 3 lakhs.
In class, he was not only a competitive student but also showed an impressive grasp of
technical concepts. I observed this during his presentation in my class.
Further, I can also recall guiding him in his final year project on ‘Gold Rate prediction using
Machine Learning which was based on some rudimentary data science and machine learning
principles.
The concepts captured in this project proved his deep fascination for the field of ML/Data
Science, as well as programming and knowledge of fundamental statistics.
The project work was aimed at providing a web application that could accurately predict
precious metal rates via multiple factors and it also brought forth his teamwork ability and
dedication into the light.
Apart from this, I observed Mallikarjun’s perseverance in practical learning and implementation
as he was always determined about organizing cultural fests and competitive activities,
Our institution’s annual day functions include events like Davana, Ethnic Day and forum
activities under UniCS , in which he was an active participant in organizing committee and
hosted many events like quiz and stage events.
In sum, I can confidently state that Mallikarjun was a step ahead of most of his peers when it
came to experimenting with his learning.
Thus, I strongly recommend Mallikarjun G H for graduate studies at your esteemed institution.
