 Narcotics and concentrated electrolytes (e.g. 3% N.S.) cannot be given through


verbal orders.
 The RMO or Staff Nurse should initially write verbal orders in their progress note
with the date and Name of the Primary Consultant who placed the order. Within 24
hours the primary consultant will transcribe the order with proper credentials.
