Part 1: Use Filters for Data Analysis and Interpretation

Filters are a powerful tool to drill down into the subsets of your data. Your dataset already have the column
filtration headers. Do filter and analyze the;

a. Total number of Covid-19 cases and total number of deaths in Europe.

Total number of Covid-19 cases= 3, 882, 3078

Total number of deaths= 776,702

b. Which country in Europe has the highest Covid-19 cases and deaths rates?

France has the highest Covid-19 cases

Italy has the highest Covid-19 death rates

Filter the country name “Austria” and make comparison with another country “Spain” in terms of;

c. The behaviour of the Covid-19 cases with respect to day and month for the two countries.

d. Describe the behaviour of the Covid-19 widespread from the start of data recording to the latest date for
these two countries (Austria and Spain).

Part 2: Use Pivot Table for Data Analysis and Interpretation

The Pivot Tables feature is a powerful tool that allows you to manipulate, analyse and explore the large
datasets. Here, we will use the Pivot Table to find out;

a. What is the grand total of Covid-19 cases and deaths in Europe? Please insert the pivot table results.

Part 3: Use Pivot Chart for Data Analysis and Interpretation

Pivot chart helps you to quickly understand the data when doing analysis on very big dataset. Our visual senses
are very powerful, and are able to immediately understand patterns and trends when they are abstracted into the
form of charts. Here, we will use the Pivot chart to find out the following analysis;

a. Show the line graphs for sum of covid-19 cases and death rates in all countries in Europe, with respect
to months. Which month has the lowest number of covid-19 cases and deaths? What was the trend like
in relation to number of cases at the beginning of data recorded (March) to the latest data collections
(October)?

The month of October recorded the lowest number of Covid-19 cases and deaths.
The graph trend shows there was a significant decline in total Covid-19 cases in the month of
October compared to March.

b. Show the column graphs relationship between the large population country in Europe with the number
of Covid-19 cases and deaths? Which country has the highest covid-19 cases and deaths in Europe?

Germany the largest population in Europe reported high number of Covid-19 cases but with
only minimal deaths recorded.

France recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases in Europe.

Italy recorded the highest number of Covid-19 deaths in Europe.

c. Why it is from the given dataset, the first day of March 2021 has the highest number of covid-19 cases
and deaths for all countries in the Europe compared to other days and months? You can verify this in
the Pivot Chart by selecting the Months, Cases, Deaths and Countries and Territories. This question
requires your general understanding about the history of Covid-19 and the given covid-19 dataset.
