All students are required to adhere to the School Catalog and Student Handbook pertaining to
professional behaviors and academic performance throughout the nursing program. Failure to meet
expected requirements may result in a failing clinical grade or withdrawal from the program. Faculty
will provide written documentation throughout the semester for any low performance than what is
required. Lower than expected performance is indicated in the evaluation tool as need improvement or
designated as unsatisfactory. Students must be satisfactory in all areas by the end of the semester to pass
this course.
CLINICAL EVALUATION ACHIEVEMENT LEVELS
SATISFACTORY: A student who earns a grade of satisfactory:
Meets all standards identified under Core Components
Complete 2 nursing care plans
Perform head to toe assessment
Perform a focused assessment on a client
Perform nursing skills required to learn in Concepts 1 including
Medication administration
IV and Parenteral Therapies including Blood Transfusion
Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition
Urinary catheterization/removal and care
Pass the critical thinking exam
Completed all required class hours
Submit a course evaluation survey
UNSATISFACTORY: A student who earns a grade of unsatisfactory:
Fails to meet all standards identified under Core Components.
Fails to comply all other requirements to pass the class:
Unable to complete 2 nursing care plans
Inability to perform accurate head to toe assessment
Inability to perform accurate focused assessment on a client
Fails to perform nursing skills required to learn in Concepts 1 including:
Medication administration
IV and Parenteral Therapies including Blood Transfusion
Enteral and Parenteral Nutrition
Urinary catheter insertion/removal and care
Failed the critical thinking exam
Incomplete required class hours
Failed to submit a course evaluation survey

Adheres to the policies and guidelines of the School of Nursing and
affiliating agencies.
Maintains personal appearance according to the policies of the FVI-
School of Nursing, and affiliating agencies.
Reports to the clinical area, pre-conferences, and post conferences, on
time as scheduled
Informs the clinical instructor and course lead instructor regarding
absence or tardiness at least one hour prior to the start of clinical
sessions.
