RELEASE OF LIABILITY, CLAIM WAIVER AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF CLAIMS AGREEMENT
In consideration of your use of this product, you hereby agree to the following, to the fullest extent
permitted by law:
To waive any and all claims that you have or may have in the future against Naish International, a
division of Nalu Kai Incorporated, or any of its agents, resulting from use of this product and any of its
components.
To release Naish International, a division of Nalu Kai Incorporated, or any of its agents from any and
all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that you or any users of this product may suffer, or
that your next of kin may suffer, as a result of the use of this product, due to any cause whatsoever,
including negligence or breach of contract on the part of Naish International, a division of Nalu Kai
Incorporated, or any of its agents, in the design or manufacture of this product.
ARBITRATION
In further consideration of the sale to you of this product and any of its components, you hereby agree
to submit to binding arbitration any and all claims, which you believe you may have against Naish
International, a division of Nalu Kai Incorporated, or any of its agents, arising from the use of any of
the Naish International/Nalu Kai Incorporated equipment. The arbitration shall be pursuant to the
rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Arbitration shall be commenced within one (1) year from the date on which any alleged claim first
arose. Further, the arbitration shall be held in Maui, Hawaii unless otherwise mutually agreed to by all
parties. The submission to the American Arbitration Association shall be limited and the arbitration
award may be enforced by any court of competent jurisdiction.
BINDING EFFECT OF AGREEMENT
In the event of your death or incapacity, this Agreement shall be effective and binding upon your heirs,
next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives.
ENTIRE AGREEMENT
In entering into this Agreement, you are not relying upon any oral or written representations other
than what is set forth in this agreement and User’s Guide.
BY INFLATING THE LEADING EDGE AND ASSEMBLING THIS
PRODUCT, YOU ARE AGREEING TO:
1) be bound to the terms set forth below and 2) require anyone using this product to be bound by such
terms. If you are unwilling to be bound by these terms, return this product (before use) for a full refund.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Use of this product and any of its components involves certain inherent risks, dangers and hazards,
which can result in serious personal injury and death. In using this product you freely agree to assume
and accept any and all known and unknown risks of injury while using this equipment. The risks
inherent in the sport can be greatly reduced by abiding by the Warnings and Guidelines listed in this
User’s Guide and by using common sense. and accept any and all known and unknown risks of injury

WARNING & SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
• Kiteboarding is a dangerous sport. Always use extreme caution when using this product.
• Misuse of this product can cause serious injury or death.
• Never use this product unless you are in good physical health and you are an experienced swimmer.
• Never act in a careless manner when using this product; never attempt to fly your kite over other
people, pets or any other obstructions.
• You are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others around you when using this product.
• Your safety and the safety of others is not solely based on the use of a control system. Other
factors, including knowledge of the sport and your equipment, proper assessment of the conditions,
awareness of your own physical limitations and personal understanding of the surrounding
environment are just a few factors that affect safety.
• Do not wait until an emergency situation to learn how to use the safety features of your control
system. Learn about safety and emergency response during instruction and do everything possible
to mitigate or eliminate risky situations that would require the use of safety systems.
• Your safety systems must be maintained and regularly checked.
• Verify your leash will not get stuck when the safety is pulled before going out on the water.
• If you are under the age of 18, you must have your parents or legal guardian read these warnings
and instructions. You must not use this product without proper guidance and supervision by your
parents or legal guardian.
• Use of this product exposes the user to unexpected and unavoidable risks, dangers and hazards.
• Do not use this product if you are under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medications.
• Never use this product during a thunderstorm, lightning, in offshore wind conditions or wind
conditions that are above your ability level.
• Make sure you take lessons from a certified kiteboarding school before using this product on the water.
• Be sure you have been trained by a certified kiteboarding school to launch and land your kite before
using this product.
• Always have an experienced kiteboarder assist you with launching and landing your kite on land.
• Make sure you know on-the-water self-rescue techniques before using this product.
• Our Quick Release Systems are developed and designed to be used by riders up to 100 kg (220 lbs).
• Always wear a harness designed for kiteboarding. Always wear a helmet, gloves, shoes, protective
eyewear when using this product.
• Always wear a Coast Guard approved personal flotation device when using this product in the water.
• Always observe local rules and regulations when using this product.
• Make sure to always have a 100 m semi-circle area downwind and on both sides of your flying
position that is clear of people, animals, and other obstructions.
• The release system is not designed for cold condition and will be impaired when used in icy
conditions, e.g. for snow kiting.

FLYING LINES
• Never touch the flying lines when this product is in use. Flying lines are extremely dangerous while
under tension and can cause serious injury or death.
• Never allow yourself or anyone else to go between the control system and the kite when the kite is
unsecured on the ground or in the launching position. The kite can launch unexpectedly at anytime
and can cause serious injury or death to anyone near by.
• Always check your flying lines for knots before each use. Knots greatly reduce the strength of the
flying lines and can break under tension, which can cause serious injury or death.
• Always check your flying lines for wear before each use. Worn flying lines can break under tension,
which can cause serious injury or death.
i3 QUICK RELEASE SYSTEM
• The expected lifespan of the i3 Quick Release System fluctuates depending on a variety
of factors including use, conditions, proper care and maintenance. With normal use, the expected
lifespan is at least two years, not including flying lines and trim lines. It is recommended you
monitor the product closely for wear and tear and clear all components of sand and debris
between sessions for optimal functioning.
• Familiarize yourself with the way the i3 Quick Release System operates and test it on land in
a non emergency situation.
• Always inspect your i3 Quick Release System prior to launching your kite and after each use
to make sure it is connected properly and in working order.
• If you see any sign of wear on these components, you must replace them prior to use.
Failure to do so, can result in serious injury or death.
• Remove any debris that may be inside the i3 Quick Release System prior to use.
• Rinse your i3 Quick Release System with fresh water after every use.
KITE LEASH
• The expected lifespan of the kite leash fluctuates depending on a variety of factors including use,
conditions, proper care and maintenance. With normal use, the expected lifespan is two years.
After that time it is recommended you monitor the product closely for wear and tear.
• Never use this product without a kite leash. A loose kite is extremely dangerous to everyone
downwind of you.
• The kite leash system is not a permanent attachment to this product. Never permanently attach
yourself to this product.
• Familiarize yourself with your leash’s quick release operation and test it on land in a non-
emergency situation.
• Always inspect your leash’s quick release prior to launching your kite to make sure it is
connected properly and in working order.
• Remove any debris that may be inside the quick release prior to use.
• The components in your leash’s quick release have a limited lifespan and must be changed often.
If you see any sign of wear on the leash’s quick release components, you must replace them prior
to use. Failure to do so, can result in serious injury or death.
• Rinse your leash’s quick release with fresh water after every use.

LINE CONNECTIONS
ATTACHING FLYING LINES TO A 4-LINE KITE
All Naish Control Systems are delivered
assembled and ready to use.
1) Begin with the flying lines from the 4-line
control system laid out directly upwind of
the kite.
WARNING: Make sure all flying lines are
straight, completely free of tangles and properly
positioned for correct line connection before
attaching them to the kite.
2) Place the front and rear line connection points
outside of the leading edge and make sure
they are free of tangles and knots.
3) Attach both front flying lines to the front line
connection points.
4) Attach the left steering (rear) flying line to the
left steering (rear) line connection point.
5) Attach the right steering (rear) flying line to the
right steering (rear) line connection point.
WARNING: Naish flying lines and bridles feature
foolproof connectors to reduce the risk of
incorrect connection between front and steering
(rear) line connection points. Be sure to always
use authentic Naish flying lines and bridles when
using Naish kites and control systems.

Pull the knot out of the Locking Cavity (1). Adjust the leader line to the desired knot using the

Lock the following knot securely in position using the Reinstall bar/line adjuster by pushing it back into the
Locking Recess (2) and insert excess line into the bar end, while pulling leader line above the floater to

opposite bar end so the leader line length adjustment is
done exactly the same on both sides.

OPERATING THE CHICKEN FINGER
The chicken finger is designed to hold the i3 Quick Release loop in position in the harness hook.
WARNING: To release yourself from the kite in an emergency situation, you must activate the i3 QR

CHICKEN FINGER POSITION
When installing the Chicken Loop onto your spreader bar, it is imperative that you rotate the Chicken Finger
so that it is fully seated against the Chicken Loop and the alignment lines match up. Improper setting of the
Chicken Finger could allow the Chicken Loop to inadvertently come off your spreader bar.

OPERATING THE i3 QUICK RELEASE
To release yourself from the kite in an emergency situation, you must activate the i3 Quick Release.
WARNING: Always use a kite leash when using a Naish Control System.
Grab the red release slide and push the slide
away from your body. The chicken loop will
release from one side of the quick release.
IMMEDIATELY LET GO of the slide as it will
stay in the open position. The Kite Leash will
keep you attached to your kite while the kite
depowers.
RECONNECTING THE i3 QUICK RELEASE
The release slide remains held in the open and
ready to reset position. Simply push the free end
of the trim loop into the reset chamber and the
release slide snaps back into position
WARNING: Check to make sure the chicken
loop is securely in place before launching
your kite.
SWIVEL OPERATION
When front lines become twisted after a kite loop or a rotation, they can easily be untwisted by
grasping the top of the i3 Quick Release—above the release handle—and rotating it until the
front lines are no longer twisted.
IMPORTANT: Continuous rotations in the same direction can put excess strain on the flagging line.
To ensure the product always works properly and to diminish wear, be sure to manually untwist the
flagging line after each session.

OPERATING THE TORQUE 2 TRIM CLEAT
To depower the kite:
1) Pull the trim line towards your body to depower the kite.
2) Lock the trim line back in the trim cleat at the
desired position.
To increase power to the kite:
1) Pull slightly on the trim line to release it from the trim cleat.
2) Slowly let the trim line feed through the trim
cleat to increase power.
3) Lock the trim line back into the trim cleat at the
desired position.

OPERATING THE KITE LEASH QUICK RELEASE
WARNING: To completely free yourself from the kite in an emergency situation:
A) Activate the i3 Quick Release loop (page 13).
B) Then activate the kite leash quick release:
1) Grab the quick release handle and push it away from your body as shown.
2) Immediately let go of the quick release handle so you are completely free from the kite.
WARNING: Only activate the kite leash quick release in a serious emergency situation. Once you
activate the kite leash quick release, you will have no control over your kite and it may become an
extreme hazard for everyone downwind from you both on land and water. When you activate the
kite leash quick release, always remember there is a strong possibility that you may not be able to
retrieve your kite. Therefore, there is a high likelihood that you will be required to swim, or need
assistance to get back to shore.

MAINTENANCE AND SERVICE
WARNING: It is necessary to rinse your bar and release mechanism after every use.
TRIM CLEAT
• Make sure to remove the trim line from the cleat.
• Thoroughly rinse the cleat to remove salt and sand after each session.
RELEASE MECHANISM
• Rinse the release mechanism with fresh water.
• Rinse the inside of the release mechanism to clean out any trapped sand/debris. Manually activate
the mechanism 2-3 times under running water to help clean the system.
• Flush the safety line to remove any sand that may be in the pathway.

WARRANTY POLICY
Naish warrants this product to be free from major defects in material or workmanship – to the original
purchaser for a period of one year from the date of purchase.
This warranty is subject to the following limitations:
The warranty is valid only when the product is registered in the warranty section of www.naishkites.com
within seven (7) days from the date of purchase.
The warranty is valid only when this product is used for normal recreational activities and does not
cover products used in rental or teaching operations.
Naish will make the final warranty determination, which may require inspection and/or photos of the
equipment, which clearly show the defect(s). If necessary, this information must be sent to the Naish
distributor in your country–postage prepaid. Product may be returned only if a return authorization
number (RAN) is given in advance by the Naish distributor. The RAN number must be clearly labeled
on the outside of the package or it will be refused.
If a product is deemed to be defective by Naish, the warranty covers the repair or replacement of the
defective product only. Naish will not be responsible for any costs, losses or damages incurred as a
result of loss of use of this product.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, abuse, neglect or normal wear and tear
including, but not limited to: punctures, rigging with other than Naish components, damage due to
excessive sun exposure or damage due to over inflation of the bladders, damage caused by improper
handling and storage, damage caused by use in waves or shore break and damage caused by crashing
the kite at high speed, or damage caused by anything other than defects in material and workmanship.
This warranty is void if any unauthorized repair, change or modification has been made to any part
of the equipment.
The warranty for any repaired or replaced equipment is good from the date of the original purchase only.
The original purchase receipt must accompany all warranty claims. The name of the retailer and date
of purchase must be clear and legible.
There are no warranties which extend beyond the warranty specified herein.
