FINAL EXAMINATION GUIDE

 You will access your exams by getting in the virtual classroom as you have been doing

when attending lectures.

 Your exams will be set up by your lecturers under one of the weeks in the course page, so

scroll through the page and you should see the examination indicated. As shown in below

Things to note:

 The exam will only be accessible at the time when the exam should begin as per the exam

timetable and will be inaccessible after the time allocated for the exam

 If your lecturer sets up a virtual room (as shown in figure 1), you will be required to join

the session and turn on your computer camera or phone camera before starting to write

your exam.

 Your lecturer could setup the exam in either of the two setups (as shown in figure 1).

 If your lecturer uses SETUP B, when the system opens the exam to be accessible download

the exam questions document first, read through the questions as usual, decide the

questions you will answer if you have the option to choose. Then,

You can write your online exam answers using two ways:

1) You can open a blank word document from your computer and type your answers

1.1) Ensure you save the word document (preferably your file name should be your

student number) even before you start typing your answers and often click on save

as you continue typing, this is important so that you don’t lose your work in case

of your computer switches off in the process of writing your exam.

2) If you know (option 1) will slow you down, write your answers on a normal foolscap i.e

hand written.

In case you opt for option 2, after writing your answers do the following;

1) Scan your answer scripts as one document

OR

I) Take clear photos of your answer scripts using your phone

II) Transfer the photos to your computer

III) Open a blank word document

3.1) Ensure you save the word document (preferably your file name should be

your student number) even before you start typing your answers and often click

on save, this is important so that you don’t lose your work in case of your computer

switches off in the process of writing your exam.

IV) Copy & paste the photos you transferred to your computer to the blank word document,

after the first photo (i.e your first answer script), click CTRL+ENTER from your

keyboard and copy & paste the second photo (i.e your second answer script) according

to your answers to the second page of your word document, do this for the rest of your

scripts up to the last one.

NOTE: If you have 10 hand written transcripts, that’s means you will have 10 photos

and your final word document will have 10 pages.

V) Finally, you now have your work in one document, Click File, then save and ensure

your work is saved under the correct file name (preferably your file name should be

your student number)

VI) Next, proceed and submit your work as usual using the submission link provided

THINGS TO CONSIDER

 Practice the process before writing your exam

 Give yourself around 20 minutes to do this process successfully during your exam

That means finish writing or typing a little bit early to give yourself enough time to

submit your work

© CUEAODeL 2020 3
REMEMBER

 The system will ONLY allow one file for submission (therefore your answer scripts need

to be in one document whether you scan or take photos)

 The exam will be timed by the system and when the time elapses

1) You will not be able to submit your work

2) The exam will also be locked and inaccessible
