Dear Editor,
I am pleased to submit our manuscript titled "Smart Cradle Monitoring System Using IoT for Real-
Time Baby Monitoring" for consideration for publication in Electronics. This paper presents a novel
approach to infant monitoring by integrating IoT and smart technologies to provide real-time
feedback to caregivers, thereby enhancing child safety and comfort.
The manuscript describes the development and implementation of a smart cradle system that
combines real-time video surveillance, sound detection, and automated rocking functionality to
ensure continuous monitoring of an infant’s activities. Our system leverages the Raspberry Pi
platform for processing and integrates sensors to detect various conditions, including baby
movements and environmental changes, such as temperature and humidity.
This work is significant because it addresses the increasing need for effective infant care solutions,
particularly in an era where many parents and caregivers are seeking smarter, more autonomous
methods for monitoring babies. The smart cradle system provides not only a safer environment for
infants but also reduces the physical and emotional strain on caregivers. Compared to existing
solutions, our system offers more integrated functionality, ease of use, and the ability to monitor
remotely using IoT applications.
We believe that this manuscript fits within the scope of Electronics, as it aligns with the journal's
focus on emerging technologies, IoT applications, and their impact on everyday life. Additionally, this
research contributes to the growing field of smart home technologies and healthcare monitoring
solutions.
