A Word About ISIL
The Indian Society of Interna onal Law (ISIL), a premier na onal ins tu on for teaching,

the efforts of the late V.K. Krishna Menon, Former Defence Minister. Inaugurated by Pandit
Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, it has indeed been a long and fulfilling
journey for the ISIL and it has carved a niche for itself among the community of interna onal
lawyers throughout the world. This would not have been possible but for the hard work of
giants like Judge Nagendra Singh, Dr. K. Krishna Rao, Mr. G. S. Pathak, Jus ce R. S. Pathak, Mr.
Ram Niwas Mirdha, Prof. M. K. Nawaz, Prof. Upendra Baxi, Prof. R.P. Anand, Prof. Rahmatullah
Khan and a host of others.

The objec ves of the ISIL inter alia are:

Ÿ To foster na on-wide, the study and development of interna onal law;

Ÿ To interpret through its forums and publica ons, the applica on of interna onal law as
