LAWS OF THE GAME
• STRICTLY NO ALCOHOL AND SMOKING IS PERMITED IN THE SCHOOL PREMISES.
• PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PARTICIPANTS’ BAGS WILL BE SEARCHED AT THE GATE.
• NO COOLERBOX ALLOWED ONTO THE PREMISIS, REFRESHMENTS WILL BE SOLD.
• PLAYERS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE RESPECTIVE SCHOOLS FOR THE YEAR 2023 (NO OUTSIDE LEARNERS).
• IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANAGERS AND COACHES TO ENSURE THAT ALL RULES ARE ENFORCED.
• SPECTATORS WHO INFRINGE ANY OF THE REQUIREMENTS WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS.
The laws applicable to the game of soccer will apply with the following amendments:
Players must play in the correct AGE Groups / Team [u19 & u15]
All FIFA laws apply to these age groups. THE ONLY VARIATIONS FOR THE TOURNAMENT are as follows:
a. There is to be no coaching or standing behind the goals by any coaches, managers, parents, supporters or
spectators. The referee shall be required to move any of the above without any protest.
b. The duration of the match shall be two equal halves of 25 minutes each way. Half time shall not exceed 5
minutes in duration.
c. The number of substitutes shall be limited to 6 (Six). No rolling substitutes shall be permitted. The law with
regards to substitutes shall be enforced. The following conditions must be observed:
● The coaches and managers are to agree with the referee prior to the start of the match from which side of the
field substitutions will be made.
● The referee is to be informed before any proposed substitution is made.
● A substitute may only enter the field after the player who is being replaced has left and after receiving a signal
from the referee.
● A substitute may only enter the field of play from the halfway line and during a stoppage in the match.
d. Each team may participate with a squad of 18 players only.
SAFETY
• A player must not use equipment or wear anything that is dangerous (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings,
leather bands, rubber bands, etc.) players will be inspected before the start of the match.
• Compulsory equipment of a player comprises the following separate items: a shirt with sleeves, shorts, socks
(tape or any material applied or worn externally must be the same colour as that part of the sock), SHINGUARDS
(these must be made of suitable material to provide reasonable protection and covered by the socks) and the
correct footwear.
• The two teams must wear colours that distinguish them from each other and the match officials.
• Undershirts must be a single colour which is the same colour as the main colour of the shirt sleeve or a pattern
which exactly replicates the shirt sleeve.
• Tights must be the same colour as the main colour of the shorts.
REFEREES:
a. The referee’s decision is FINAL.
b. Referees shall apply the Laws of the Football Association as per the latest FIFA laws. A copy of these laws will be
available at the referees table for reference purposes.
c. Referees shall be requested to enforce fair play at all times. They have been instructed to be particularly vigilant
with regards to the following:
● Shirt pulling.
● Tackles from behind.
● Diving to gain unfair advantage.
● Pushing and shoving without attempting to play the ball.
● Foul and abusive language.
d. In applying these laws, any infringement that requires a referee to caution a player or dismiss a player from the
field of play, the referee shall be required to show the relevant player the applicable card. Any player who
receives a red card will face an automatic one match ban.
e. A player who receives a RED CARD will miss the next game
f. In the event of any verbal abuse, the referee shall report such incidents to Referee’s Director and the relevant
Headmaster will be notified. It will be the responsibility of these officials to deal with the problem further.
g. Referees shall be required to stop the game immediately there is an apparent head injury to any player. It is not
necessary that the MEDICS be signaled onto the field by the referee.
J. Time shall not be stopped for injuries.
ROUND-ROBIN RULES:
1. The tournament Group Stage will be played on a round-robin basis, with points being allocated as follows:
- 3 Points for a win.
- 1 Point for a draw
- 0 Points for a loss.
2. In the case of two teams finishing on the same number of points, GOALS difference will be taken into account, then
the team scoring the most GOALS. If the teams are still level, the result will be decided by the toss of a coin.
KNOCK-OUT RULES: (CROSS POOLS PLAY-OFFS) / BOYS CUPS
1. In the event of any of the KNOCKOUT (placement games) ending in a draw, the game will go into a penalty
shoot-out as per FIFA rules.
2. There will be no extra-time.
