Snopsis
The project HOTEL management system is a desktop based application
that allows the hotel manager to handle allhotel activities
online.Intractive GUI and the ability yo manage various
rooms ,employees ,drivers,and costomers make this system very
flexible and convenvient .The hotel manager is very busy person and
does not have the time to sit and manage the entire activities manually
on paper .The application gives him the power and flexibility to manage
the entire system from a singal online system.The hotel management
project provides room booking,staff management,and other necessary
hotel management features.The system allows the manager to post
available rooms in the system.

The main objective of the system is tocomputrize the maintenance of
the online processing and provide greater processing speed and

accuracy provide faster information retrieval ,provide a generalized
system provide improvement in consistency ,and provide more
conviniement work and a complete menu-driven application.

5.structure of the project
5.1 proposed system
There is a clear need for bringning ,the scope of rapid computerization ,THE
activities of the guest house Function.The five possibilities that can flow from this
function namely :-Book keeping decision support, validation of past
assumptions,Generation of useful reports cost consciousness ,Business
Trends,and Better management.Only the first need seem to be fully satisfied with
the current ,manual system .
Computrization could immediatly facilitate timiliness,accuracy analysis along
different parameters ,and the meeting of multiple requirements of various
level,and different Guest houses in the organization . The basic need that will be
satisfied will lead to the release of competent professional time for more
productive and useful work,an immediate example of routine tasks that can be
easily compurized to release the individuals would bill passing.
5.2. MANUAL WORKING PROCEDURE
5.2.1Administration Module
First,The recommendation is issued for advance booking in writing by the
concerned department of the co.Intimation is given to the guest house with the
information whether
Company’s guest or Government guest,Also,it is described as whether chargeable
or .Bio-data for guest like,Name of the guest ,occupation of the guest ,expected
Departure Data/Time expected Departure Data time,etc Intimation Slip is made
for above.
5.2.2 Advance Booking:-
If the recommended room is available in the particucal guest house,a new
booking is made with the Bio-Data of the guest house.If the booking is
cancled ,Reservation Register is updated according to the previous entry.And if
the booking data will come,the occupancy of the room is mad.

.In between :- At the departure ,Various types of bills are prepared accordingly to
charges for rooms,food,item,etc.

.Telephone bill Bills are received in two ways:-

.Cash bill:-About for CO.guest (chargeable),cash as received for the room bill &
food bill,For CO.guest (non chargeable)and Govt.guest, no bill for the room.
. Cradit bill:-For CO. guest (non chargeable)food bill is sent to CO. Monthly bill is
sent to the concered department.
6.Fucture scope of the Project:-
This project will enhance room booking and costomer service more quickly and
efficiently. This software is doveloped in order to computerized the activities
whichntake more time if done manually.
Hotel Management system will enable the room and food staff to make things
faster and can get information quickly .If we want any information about food and
room,we can access it quickly.

User Interface
The User interface required to be doveloped for the system should be user –
friendly and attractive.
There are two sets of c++ APIs for graphics programming:
AWT(Abstract windowing Toolkit)and Swing.
AWT API was introduced in JDK 1.0. MOST of the AWT components have
become obsolete and and should be replaced by newer swing components.
Swing API , a much more comprehensive set of graphics libraries that
enhances the AWT ,was introduced as a part of java foundation classes (JFC)
after the release of JKD 1.1. JFC consist of swing , java
2D ,Accessibility ,Internatiionalization,and pluggable-look and Feel-support
APIs. JFC was an add –on to JDK 1.1. but has been integrated into core java
since JDK 1.2.
