Abstract: Flower therapy is a gift of nature to the mankind. Flowers have the power to heal the body at
physical, mental and spiritual level. Humans of all ages are drawn to flowers like a moth to a flame.
These flowers in vibrant colors touch our spirits. They add colors to the life, bringing abundant joy and
happiness. Flowers carry specific healing energy information which when given for a particular ailment
will align the vibrations within the organism bringing balance in an individual and harmony of mind,
body and spirit. With each dose taken the energy signature of the flower will assist in healing the body.
This new method of therapy was discovered by Edward Bach, a doctor who discovered that flowers and
plants have the power to soothe and stir the soul. It was a completely different healing method which he
decided to name it as Bach Flower Therapy. And so, it became a complementary and alternative system
of healing the sick individual. Flower therapy is the administration of essence that is obtained from
flower by boiling or by exposing them to the sunshine. These are then administered orally to calm or
enhance the particular emotional state. It is simple, safe, easily administered, without any side effects,
and given in a standard dose.
Keywords: Bach Therapy, Flower, Essence. Healing, Remedies.
I. INTRODUCTION
Flower Therapy helps to maintain psychological, emotional and physical well-being. This brings harmony between
body, mind and soul. Flower Remedies work in specific patterns covering various emotional problems. The flowers are
especially picked during specific flowering times, so that the energetic principles are enclosed within inside. They are
kept in a glass bowl on the surface of pure spring water.
The bowl is left in the sunshine for a couple of hours or until the petals begin to fade. The flowers are lifted out and
kept in bottle containing water and brandy as a preservative. Some remedies cannot be prepared using the sunshine
method and therefore the boiling method is utilized, the tree’s portions that are required are boiled for 30 minutes in
spring water. Then, this fluid is strained off and poured in bottles and the same amount of brandy is added. Each
remedy undergoes a dilution process. This is the second preparation or stock essence.
II. DISCUSSION
Dr. Edward Bach, discovered the Bach Flower Remedies, which is an alternative world of drugs in which the
extracts from flowers, wild trees and bushes are taken in the form of liquid, to treat various mental and emotional
ailments. He is called as father of Bach flower remedies, he understood that the disease lies in a personality of a human
being. There are 38 remedies which are used in many countries along with all possible combinations to treat the patient.
Bach Flower remedies are capable of treating various conditions like addiction, anger, anxiety, depression, fears and
phobias, grief, isolation and loneliness, low self-worth, mental exhaustion, sleeplessness, stress, suicidal tendencies and
trauma, and many other that are prevalent at the workplace and home.
Besides this Bach Flower therapy also helps in managing various physicalailments caused by suppressed emotions
like allergy, arthritis, gastritis, hypertension and so on. The flowerheals the individual and a combination of these
essence are prescribed to bring balance and harmony at all levels.
